Lapis lazuli article

edit

I reverted your additions to the lapis lazuli article for two reason. One is that www.crystalvaults.com and www.gemrockauctions.com aren't reliable sources. As sales sites, they're interested in trying to glamorize these minerals to appeal to buyers. They aren't scholarly source, nor are they published by reputable publishers with a history of fact checking. The sources you use need to be properly-formatted inline sources. Please visit this training module if you need a refresher on how to do this.

In addition, the one of the quotes makes medical claims and gives advice on treating disease. It's generally unwise to give medical advice if you aren't a licensed professional. More importantly, medical content on Wikipedia needs to be backed up by high quality sources - generally, they should be review articles published in the last five years. You can learn more about WP:MEDRS.

Apart from source quality, there's the issue of using copyright content. If you're using copyright content, it needs to be minimal. You can quote a few words when the precise wording the source used makes a significant difference in a reader's understanding. Or you can use quotes when they are the subject of commentary. You can't, however, use quotes in the manner you did. Ian (Wiki Ed) (talk) 19:55, 28 April 2022 (UTC)Reply
