Hey Sophie, looks like your user page is getting poked by a IP vandal... I got you covered :) - Methecooldude (talk) 00:50, 6 November 2010 (UTC)

Hello
If you are going to completely redo my work on 2010 in The United States you could at least add it to November 2010. Thanks. I thought what I said was valuable. Apparently not to you. - it was the word "win" what was changed as
- : Republicans also won a majority of...
- sounds better than
- : Republicans also win a majority of...
The entire article is in a tense that makes it sounds like it is happening at the moment. I was only changing it to fit that tense. In other words, the article is not written in past tense even though it depicts past events. S51438 (talk) 01:07, 6 November 2010 (UTC)
- then the same example could be applied to "they win most of the seats" and as that dont make sence, i changed it so it was "they won most of the seats" as it makes more sence like that. Sophie (Talk) 01:11, 6 November 2010 (UTC)
You can change it to whatever you want, but whatever you undoed deleted my entire work, when that slight change in win was the most recent edit S51438 (talk) 01:14, 6 November 2010 (UTC)
- yea i dont know why it did that =/ dont normally Sophie (Talk) 01:32, 6 November 2010 (UTC)
It's ok, no problem :) S51438 (talk) 02:02, 6 November 2010 (UTC)

Doppelgannger
re User:Sophj, you need to actually create the user, simply creating the page won't do it--Jac16888Talk 15:23, 6 November 2010 (UTC)
- i tried but couldnt because it said it was to similar to User:SophJ (notice the captial J at the end) - Sophie (Talk) 17:29, 7 November 2010 (UTC)
- Then why do you need it? As far as i can see all it does is add to my backlog at Wikipedia:Database reports/Ownerless pages in the user space--Jac16888Talk 18:48, 7 November 2010 (UTC)
- cause user:SophJ and user:Sophj are practiaclly the same, apart from the captial letter. Sophie (Talk) 19:29, 7 November 2010 (UTC)
- So?--Jac16888Talk 19:39, 7 November 2010 (UTC)
- Its like having user:deltaquad and user:deltaQuad, see how it depends on a captial letter? Sophie (Talk) 19:59, 7 November 2010 (UTC)
- Yes I'm aware of the difference, notice how delta has not created user:deltaquad, because its not needed. User:Sophj does not belong to a user, and therefore can be legitimately deleted at anytime. It serves no purpose as far as I can tell other than in the event that somebody is looking for your doppelganger User:SophJ and uses a lower case j, and since User:SophJ doesn't seem to have purpose, why is Sophj needed? All it does is clog up a backlog--Jac16888Talk 20:12, 7 November 2010 (UTC)
- And please stop talkbacking me, I'm watching your page--Jac16888Talk 20:12, 7 November 2010 (UTC)
- yea, so thats why I put the template on there as well because someone could use user:sophj because of the captial letter and because of the message i got that it was too similar to user:sophJ i couldnt register it.
- and ok, its cause someone could easily forget that someone had replied to a comment and not get noticed for a week. I use User:Sophie/tb as a one time notice when someone leaves a message and dont think it will go into a convo. Sophie (Talk) 20:18, 7 November 2010 (UTC)
- You're still completely missing my point. The only reason I care is because its listed at Wikipedia:Database reports/Ownerless pages in the user space, one of the things I go through and deal with every week. There are already several pages there which I can't do anything about, yours has no purpose, and no reason for being, its nothing but a nuisance.--Jac16888Talk 20:23, 7 November 2010 (UTC)

Doppelgänger accounts: A doppelgänger account is a second account created with a username similar to one's main account to prevent impersonation. Such accounts should not be used for editing. Doppelgänger accounts may be marked with the {{doppelganger}} or {{doppelganger-other}} tag (or simply redirected to the main account's userpage). |
And i'm following that, if I could register the account I would but it says its to similar to user:sophJ Sophie (Talk) 20:33, 7 November 2010 (UTC)
- Yes, but since you can't register the account, neither can anybody else. Therefore it can't be used for impersonation, and is not a doppelganger account--Jac16888Talk 20:41, 7 November 2010 (UTC)
- Ahh, makes sence :) Sophie (Talk) 09:35, 9 November 2010 (UTC)
Thesevenseas block
Can anyone say what happend to user:thesevenseas? Because we were talking as it shows above and in my archive. Thanks. Sophie (Talk) 08:42, 9 November 2010 (UTC)
- You can email arbcom to ask them. It's sort of "hush hush" and I don't think you'll get an answer. Killiondude (talk) 08:52, 9 November 2010 (UTC)

WHY
Why do you have to edit stuff. I bet your not even a little kid. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.181.199.248 (talk) 22:07, 10 November 2010 (UTC)
- I edit wikipedia cause I choose to, I like learning new things I'm interested in and if I know something I'll share it, I don't have to edit if I don't want to, Like iv not edited today (apart from this). :) and I am 13 :) young good people do exist :P Sophie (Talk) 02:54, 11 November 2010 (UTC)
Doppelgänger
For this to work, you have to actually register the account, not just create the page. See User:Sophj for the one I'm talking about. As now, it shows up on Wikipedia:Database reports/Ownerless pages in the user space because the account actually doesn't exist. Courcelles 09:44, 12 November 2010 (UTC)

Ach; come on
I value you opinions. So, please, don't run away; offer them.

- There are quite a few editors who look down on you because of your age (as I'm sure you've noticed), but there are plenty more that judge an editor by their contributions instead. Take a break, and come back to Wikipedia when you feel like it. Shubinator (talk) 05:04, 14 November 2010 (UTC)
Greetings from the Guild of Copy Editors Backlog Elimination Drive!
We have reached the midway point in our backlog elimination drive, so here is an update. Participation report — The November drive has 53 participants at this point. We had 77 participants in the September drive. In July, 95 people signed up for the drive, and in May we had 36. If you are not participating, it is not too late to join! Progress report — The drive is quite successful so far, as we have already almost reached our target of a 10% reduction in the number of articles in the backlog. We are doing very well at keeping our Requests page clear, as those articles count double for word count for this drive. Please keep in mind the possibility of removing other tags when you are finished with an article. If the article no longer needs {{cleanup}}, {{wikify}}, or other similar maintenance tags, please remove them, as this will make the tasks of other WikiProjects easier to complete. Thanks very much for participating in the Drive, and see you at the finish line!

Don't let the idiots get you down.
If you really are 13, you are a very mature 13 and a real asset to this project. I assure you that the community will welcome you back with joy when you decide to return. Don't let the cowards who hide behind proxies get under your skin. Regards, PMDrive1061 (talk) 02:35, 20 November 2010 (UTC)
- I'll be watching over your pages if Grawp and /b/ come back, and I'll have an admin revdel any of their vandalism. The Thing T/C 02:39, 20 November 2010 (UTC)
- =/ i'm not entirely sure about what you are on about as i last logged on 3 days ago but from the looks of the history...stuff went down...does anyone mind saying what kind of stuff was said and stuff? Sophie (Talk) 01:52, 21 November 2010 (UTC)
Can you per chance upload this picture to tinypic or photobucket or some similar service, then put the link on Mr. Wales' page? Really I could have deleted this file as {{db-f9}} for obvious reasons... Magog the Ogre (talk) 01:46, 21 November 2010 (UTC)
{{adminhelp}}
id like to get the file resorted because I did say it would take a while to get the copyright for it sorted out and I only got the message today so didnt have a chance to actully do anything Sophie (Talk) 01:53, 21 November 2010 (UTC)
- No. Not unless you can get the owner of every single one of those images to release them and 4chan to give you permission to use a pic of their website. Aside from copyvio issues, it doesn't seem to serve any encyclopaedic purpose. As Magog says, upload it Flickr or photobucket or something and link to it. If you haven;t got a copy, I can email you the picture. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 02:10, 21 November 2010 (UTC)
- Iv seen other things made from 4chan on wikipedia and on commons, im not sure who they are credited to but then they should be deleted as well
- I was working on doing that, I did say it would take a while
- What "encyclopaedic purpose" do the pictures in my wiki-break message serve as then?
(adding) - [:File:718smiley.png] wasnt created by that user at all, it was made by Chris Ainsworth. [1]
Sophie (Talk) 02:13, 21 November 2010 (UTC)
- Well the problem is that if even one of the owners of any of the images doesn't release it, the image can't be used, which is why you have to get permission before uploading it. Like I say, you can upload it to another website with different requirements and link to it and I'll gladly email you the image if you need me to, but, at least for the minute, it can't be hosted on WMF servers. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 02:24, 21 November 2010 (UTC)
- See the notes and questions above Sophie (Talk) 02:28, 21 November 2010 (UTC)
- 1) WP:OTHERCRAP and, frankly, not my problem, 2) if or when you have permission, it can be undeleted, but you can't upload it before getting permission because you might not get it 3) again, WP:OTHERCRAP and it's on Commons, so I couldn't do anything even if I wanted to. Sorry to be blunt, but that's what I tried to explain above. You would still find it much easier to upload it elsewhere and link to it. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 02:46, 21 November 2010 (UTC)

Just saying...
Just saying, I don't know you, but I'm 14. I know how you feel on this project. Trust me, I have gone through all of the thoughts you have about age and all that. I am not as well known as you are around here I dont think, but, I see how much you improve the project, and I personally thank you (: I'm Flightx52 and I approve this message 20:12, 21 November 2010 (UTC)

- Posting logs publicly is against Wikimedia channel rules... Sometimes it's acceptable to post, as in the case of m:Bash, if you have the explicit consent of all parties involved. Also, posting people's IPs and info in a public place isn't very kind (unless it is a vandal account or a situation where the IP address should probably be public). I'd suggest using email in the future. Killiondude (talk) 02:13, 25 November 2010 (UTC)
- I think it was because to check that it wasn't a stalker which the protection for younger / harassment(?) or hounding would of taken over. Cause I think with things like that you want to know asap. Sophie (Talk) 02:19, 25 November 2010 (UTC)
