Anje Kruger moved to draftspace

edit

An article you recently created, Anje Kruger, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.   Hello, Southafricantruthrevealed, welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contributions. Hi Wikishovel
Thanks for getting in contact. You are correct I am coordinating with another user but it's my roommate. We go to different universities and have to share a computer so we end up sharing a lot of information and tasks in order not to fall behind schedule due to limited resources.
I am actually a linguistics student at the University of Witwatersrand in South Africa, and my friend is studying at the Tygerberg Campus of Stellenbosch University, he is studying the same syllabus.
We need to write a 10,000 word essay on a notable public figure or business by the end of this month and need to demonstrate copywriting skills on both our essays. We have to show that we can write online comfortably and thought that Wikipedia is a better option than reddit or spending a lot of money on building a website.
Not much happens in the country and all of the reputable figures are already taken, they're either on Wikipedia or multiple news websites.
Even though we don't think Anje is the best option that exists out there, she is a controversial young business owners in the country and we have access to insights from our friend that used to work for her so we just thought we could use this to help ourselves get somewhere. We don't want to stay in this country.
Daniel and I teamed up and figured we are learning enough to build a knowledge base on both Anje Kruger and Kruger Commodities which can help us demonstrate our capabilities to employers, as well as help us get a good grade. It's cool because young people don't just build businesses and go public you know.
Plus we also can not fail as we are both here on scholarships and our lives would be ruined. If we have to start over, I don't know what we would do.
If we are doing anything wrong please let us know. DanielThiel169 (talk) 18:57, 10 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
Prime example, I was logged into his account just now. Its Maria (southafricantruthrevealed)
Won't happen again. Logging out now and back into my account.
Now it just feels weird. DanielThiel169 (talk) 19:00, 10 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
Let's give you another chance and assume you are not doing paid editing, and you actually need to write a 10,000 word essay. I recommend that you stop writing about Anje Kruger.
Go look at List of newspapers in South Africa and pick a public figure of business that multiple sources wrote a lot about. Then paraphrase and combine their news coverage. 184.146.170.127 (talk) 22:26, 10 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
I understand what you're saying. I did not know Wikipedia was only for famous people.
I thought it was an open source platform for knowledge sharing.
All the newspapers in the country are owned by Naspers. They control the information flow. When they write about someone it's not credible because they're biased and paid to do it.
Thanks for crushing my dream this week. Southafricantruthrevealed (talk) 06:45, 11 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Anje Kruger

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Anje Kruger requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Wikishovel (talk) 19:25, 10 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

Please communicate instead of attempt to punish us.
We were making an effort and invested time in stating our case.
Please suggest a remedy that is not the deletion of our work.
What is apparently not important about this? What could be more important? Videogames, food and the bahamas? Southafricantruthrevealed (talk) 19:44, 10 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
Not cool.
Our country literally has nothing else to write about. It does not matter what we write about it won't be considered notable anyway because of the size of the country.
I'm just asking not to have a biased view of this and to actually research what their company has achieved. Southafricantruthrevealed (talk) 19:52, 10 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
Wikipedia does not want to punish your country. It's just your writing style is too different from the rest of Wikipedia.
Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc. links violate WP:USERGENERATED. Google Maps, regulatory authorities, and yellow pages violate WP:ROUTINE. The k***rc***s.com website violates "the great majority of any article must be drawn from independent sources" WP:SELFSOURCE.
The page looks like the result of you receiving a Microsoft Word document and pasting it into Wikipedia. On Wikipedia, we need to use the correct Infobox templates for biographies.
Reliable and independent sources from South Africa (website ending in .za) are allowed.184.146.170.127 (talk) 22:23, 10 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thanks I understand the violations and now have a better understanding that all content regarding someone else must be from sources other than the ones they own or are involved in. And note made regarding social media profiles and "selfsource" websites.
I made every single edit on Wikipedia and don't have a microsoft account for word though. But I have found the templates and will be doing research about more South African people to write about soon.
Thank you. Southafricantruthrevealed (talk) 06:39, 12 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Kruger Commodities

edit

The article Kruger Commodities has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails WP:GNG and WP:NORG; no independent reliable sources giving WP:SIGCOV found in article or on the internet.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
