SpaderTre: Greetings. You make a good point. I would simply like to share with you my understanding of my religion's view on capital punishment. I am Catholic. As I understand it the Catholic Church supports capital punishment in the case in which the person sentenced is so likely to escape imprisonment and then again be a menace to society that imprisonment is not considered viable. The meaning of what I phrased as 'menace to society' is, I am certain, handled with more specificity and probably means the individual is considered likely to cause serioius physical harm to people.
