Brussels-Capital Region

edit

Hi David, I reverted your names-changing cf. [1]: besides art. 3, there are also art. 134, 138 etc; both names are quite official and in the constitution, the region itself seems to prefer the long names. Kind regards. — SomeHuman 31 Dec2006 20:15 (UTC)

Allright. Thanx David Descamps 20:32, 31 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Requested move regarding municipalities in the Walloon Region

edit

David, would you have a look at my response to your request. May I ask to please reinstate 'municipality' everywhere you had put 'commune' in place, for the reason explained there. Kind regards. — SomeHuman 1 Jan2007 00:25 (UTC)

Jan Frans Willems

edit

Hi, there seems to be a misunderstanding of the word "costitution" in the article of Jan Frans Willems. I think it should be changed to "foundation" as it refers to the foundation of the United Kingdom of the Nenterlands, not to its constitution. It is probably a "Dutchism" and unclear to readers? Pvosta 10:08, 11 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Oprichting and not grondwet, is that what you meant? David Descamps 19:44, 11 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
Indeed, so "foundation" might be the right word. Pvosta 06:57, 12 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

I noticed a pair of small typos on your personal page. I lives in Tournai, a flemish town in Belgium located in the Walloon Region should be:

fr:Histoire du terme Wallon

Hi, I'll have a look at that; at least seeing how the Wallonia articles are organised on the French Wikipedia would be a good idea. I don't mean any offence by questioning the articles. I don't know Stephane.dohet or have an opinion on Wallonia or Belgian politics. I'm simply a neutral editor who's trying to ensure articles/disambiguation etc. is organised so as to be most useful to a read who knows nothing about the topic. I'm quite willing to discuss and help improve the articles so that they are useful to the layman. Regards, JRawle (Talk) 15:23, 25 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

WP:AN

edit

Hi Speculoos,
Take care that here such complains : [2] are not politically correct and per WP:CIVIL and WP:NPA, they are not usually welcome.
By the way, if you have real problems (but not content issues, only behavioural issues), you should complain on WP:AN/I and not on WP:AN.
Hope user:Fram can help.
Regards, Ceedjee (talk) 20:13, 12 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Another comment. On wp:en, the policy is to warn an editor when you complain about him, whether on WP:AN or WP:AN/I. Your motivations could be badly perceived if you would not take care of this...
Ceedjee (talk) 20:25, 12 September 2008 (UTC)Reply
You're welcome.
FYI, on wp:en, the interaction between contributors is quite different than the one on wp:fr.
Here, animosity and even light personal attacks are more badly perceived than on wp:fr.
In case of trouble, admins will only take behaviour into account and completely do not mind who is right or not, and who is pov-pushing or not, but contributors are expected, far more than on wp:fr, to be wp:civil with this famous British flegmatism...
When the other side gets upset, contributors are also expected to take distance and to leave the other side cool down before to go on the discussion.
Take care, Ceedjee (talk) 08:20, 13 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Europe 10,000 Challenge invite

edit

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Europe/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Germany, Italy, the Benelux countries, Iberian Peninsula, Romania, Slovenia etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. If you would like to see masses of articles being improved for Europe and your specialist country like Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon, sign up today and once the challenge starts a contest can be organized. This is a way we can target every country of Europe, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant and also sign under any country sub challenge on the page that you might contribute to! Thank you. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 21:09, 7 November 2016 (UTC)Reply
