editHi Springchickensoup. I've undone a couple of your recent edits to a few talkpages where you removed the code for an archiving bot. The thing is that when you removed the code you also removed the links to the actual archived posts. You might want to double-check some of your latest edits to talkpages.--Brianann MacAmhlaidh (talk) 23:41, 24 February 2017 (UTC)
Non-existent categories
editHi Springchickensoup
Please will you stop adding non-existent eponymous categories to articles?
Some of the more recent additions include:
- Category:Whistlefield, which you added[1] to Whistlefield. That's a tiny hamlet, sp it is very unlikely that Wikipedia will ever have enough articles to populate a category for this hamlet.
- Category:Loch Striven, which you added[2] to Loch Striven. There is no precedent for categorising the local villages by sea loch, so if the category was actually created, it would probably be deleted.
There have been many more, but I didn't make a note of them at the time.
Categories exist to facilitate navigation between articles (see WP:CAT). Adding non-existent categories, or categories which would only ever contain one article, does nothing to help readers navigate between articles.
What happens when you do this is that the categories get listed in Special:WantedCategories, where other editors find them and then have to take time assessing why they were added, before removing them. That's not helpful.
I also notice that neither of the edits linked above had an edit summary which accurately described what was done:
- This edit[3] to Whistlefield has an edit summary "infobox edit". That is untrue. The edit dis not change the infobox at all> It added a category, and the edit summary doesn't mention that.
- This edit[4] to Loch Striven also doesn't mention adding a category.

Hi
editHi Springchickensoup, thanks for making articles on all these places! I've made some changes and added more sources at Coylet and removed the "unreviewed article" header, but I couldn't see a reason to include tourist info like the caravan park, and I'm afraid it just isn't long enough for so many pictures. Did anybody give you the welcome template or suggest you ask questions at the Teahouse? Yngvadottir (talk) 20:53, 28 February 2017 (UTC)
