your edit to my talk page
editHi Cliff, I know you meant well by removing this edit from my talk page, but I generally prefer to keep messages around if they are not obvious vandalism, and besides, I had already seen the message prior to your reversion. Thanks anyway, I greatly appreciate your friendship. --Kyoko 17:17, 2 June 2007 (UTC)
- OK. :) I'll keep that in mind. — $PЯINGrαgђ 03:28, 6 June 2007 (UTC)
OMG
editCliff, sweetie!! I somehow managed to not ever notice about your wife and son until just now and I am SO SORRY for what happened. You're always so cheerful and funny that I had no idea you'd been through anything like that. I don't know of anything I can say, just that I'm almost crying right now. I can't imagine going through something like that, my thoughts and prayers are with you. (I'm not all that religious, but oh well...) K. Lásztocska 18:24, 2 June 2007 (UTC)
Your right
editIt's been too long mate. Remember the days at the Coffee Lounge? How are you holding up? A combination of the freezing cold here and the stress of an RfA is wearing me down. Doomsday gave me this. It's better than any medicine. I've we've been witness to the rise and fall of, Esperanza, The AMA and Bad jokes and other Deleted nonsense. I saw some of those as invincible, but Wikipedia is changing, what's next? Cliff if you need someone to talk to, about anything or you need editing help (or eating help), just toss me a message. Take care mate, Dfrg.msc 03:24, 3 June 2007 (UTC)
(Delayed) boink!
editI sent something your way a few hours ago, in case you haven't checked yet, sweetie :) Love you, Phaedriel - 03:30, 6 June 2007 (UTC)
- Oh my…this will take some time. Please pardon my slow response, but I will tell you I understood everything and I did do what you thought I would. ;) — $PЯINGrαgђ 03:44, 6 June 2007 (UTC)
Say what?
editHi Cliff, what exactly did you mean by this comment on my talk page? I have no idea what you're talking about. --Kyoko 13:50, 6 June 2007 (UTC)
- Oh, sorry if I didn't specify. I was replying to this — $PЯINGrαgђ 15:18, 6 June 2007 (UTC)
Anton Rubinstein—Resemblance to Beethoven
editI'd attributed this paragraph to Harold C. Schonberg's book "The Great Pinists," from which this POV was taken. I am replacing the material and will attempt to make it chearer that this is someone else's POV or to make it a more NPOV.
Meanwhile, please read my footnotes and consult before whacking away, okay?
Springeragh
editYou have a interesting username. But what does it stand for anyways? I hope you don't mind that I sign my name on your userpage. Have a nice day. King Lopez Contribs 07:59, 7 June 2007 (UTC)
- Well it's a little bit of a long story but I'll cut out the extra parts. ;) Basically back in July 2006 I wanted a name that meant "joke" in a different language, and eventually I pared it down to "Scherzo" (Italian) and "Springeragh" (Irish Gaelic). When I had my friends vote they all voted Italian, but that was taken. :| So all that was left was the Irish Gaelic name…which it turns out I like better anyway. :D — $PЯINGrαgђ 15:27, 7 June 2007 (UTC)
So THAT'S what it means!! I've been wondering about that for awhile now...K. Lásztocska 23:02, 7 June 2007 (UTC)
- Oh. You could have asked. ;) — $PЯINGrαgђ 23:04, 7 June 2007 (UTC)
- I should change my name to "Sceptre" in Welsh. Will (talk) 23:21, 7 June 2007 (UTC)
- Deyrnwialen, nheyrnwialen, teyrnwialen, or theyrnwialen? — $PЯINGrαgђ 04:20, 8 June 2007 (UTC)
I'm not sure exactly what you're asking for here. This is a pretty clear summary of the consensus view. Fireplace 19:32, 7 June 2007 (UTC)
- I'm not able to distill your meaning from two diffs. I've pointed you to the discussion of the consensus view that infoboxes should not be used for composer biographies. What more are you asking for? Fireplace 19:40, 7 June 2007 (UTC)
- I meant look at the edit summaries of those edits. — $PЯINGrαgђ 19:41, 7 June 2007 (UTC)
- I did ;) See above question though -- what more are you asking for beyond showing you that consensus exists not to use infoboxes on composer biographies? Fireplace 19:43, 7 June 2007 (UTC)
- Well, I won't revert it anymore, but other people probably will…and I won't revert back either way. — $PЯINGrαgђ 19:45, 7 June 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks =) BTW, this is basically Pigsonthewings' personal edit war, which has resulted in various bans and paroles being placed on him by administrators -- I doubt others will revert. Fireplace 19:48, 7 June 2007 (UTC)
- This isn't a "peroanl edit war"; it's you claiming consensus where none exists. Andy Mabbett 20:00, 7 June 2007 (UTC)
- I'll have no arguments on my page. This can end or be taken someplace else. — $PЯINGrαgђ 20:02, 7 June 2007 (UTC)
My RfA
editDear Springeragh, thanks for your support in my recent RfA, it was, however, unsuccessful. I am not the type of editor to be disheartened by such a result, and have gained much experience. If you have anything to contribute by way of improvements or comments, please don’t hesitate to tell me.
I will run again. Until then, Cheers, Dfrg.msc 08:30, 8 June 2007 (UTC)
- It's a tragic thing,
- to see a girl of three
- go missing.
- The police and search dogs
- desperately hound the area
- and question those who inhabit it,
- looking for clues to her whereabouts
- and for the smallest glimmer of hope
- in her survival.
- But fear not,
- for the hope we've searched for
- has been there all along:
- in each of our hearts.
- With everyone's determination
- to find this lone girl,
- she will be found,
- safe and sound.
It's not the best poem in the world, and I never intended to include any kind of writing style or rhyming pattern, but for a beginner poet I think it's kinda good (needs work, but it's good). I believe I speak for the entire online community when I say I appreciate what you are doing for this one girl and her family. In the place of her parents, I thank you. // DecaimientoPoético 11:38, 8 June 2007 (UTC)
Sleep
editJa, I do, but it's been impacted by all the friends I have on the other side of the pond, it's like I'm living in Newfoundland time. Will (talk) 11:10, 9 June 2007 (UTC)
- Oh. Well I think I live in California time. :P Most of the time that is. When I get more than four hours of sleep at a stretch. ;) — $PЯINGrαgђ 19:12, 9 June 2007 (UTC)
A question
editWhat does number of unique pages mean in your edit count?Thank you--Arnon Chaffin (Talk) 20:02, 9 June 2007 (UTC)
- Actually, to tell you the truth, I don't know. My guess is it mean the number of actual pages (like for example if I had only edited Paper, Cement, and Gravel I think the number would be 3), but I'm not completely sure. You could probably as Interiot, who made the tool. :) — $PЯINGrαgђ 20:04, 9 June 2007 (UTC)
- Thank you for your time sir,Arnon Chaffin (Talk) 20:05, 9 June 2007 (UTC)
Boink!
editEmail time! Another will follow up soon, I promise! ;) Love, Phaedriel - 22:14, 9 June 2007 (UTC)
thanks
editHi Spring, thanks for your message. Unfortunately I think I just have to find the motivation to edit within myself. The stress from the Esperanza debate has made it hard for me to concentrate on things, and it's affecting things in real life, not just Wikipedia. I hope this doesn't last long. Thanks.--Kyoko 23:38, 9 June 2007 (UTC)
Correct!
editIt is, good work. If your running Windows XP, do this:
- Click on Start or press the Windows Key (assuming your OS is Windows XP).
- Go to Run and open it up (or just press R).
- Type my name: Dfrg.msc.
- Press Enter, and Disk Defragmenter should pop up. Press Defragment.
- Go make some toast, and eat it while thinking of me. Cheers! Dfrg.msc 01:46, 10 June 2007 (UTC)
- I thought of that once but I've never done it as my whole computer hangs on a tightrope whether or not it works—and
anythingmost things that might throw it off that tightrope I don't do. ;) — $PЯINGrαgђ 16:02, 10 June 2007 (UTC)
Anton Rubinstein TOC
editThanks for moving the TOC to get rid of that empty space. What you did looks great! Jonyungk 03:06, 10 June 2007 (UTC)
Re: Wow
editYou use Internet Explorer? And you use Windows XP? And you live in California? You rock. — $PЯINGrαgђ 04:52, 8 June 2007 (UTC)
- Yes I do. What do you use? I have a question for you. Are you male or female? King Lopez Contribs 07:55, 10 June 2007 (UTC)
- Well it just so happened that I use Internet Explorer on Windows XP. ;)
- And—according to this and this comment I am male, since I know no girls named Cliff. ;) — $PЯINGrαgђ 16:00, 10 June 2007 (UTC)
Ok I see Cliff. King Lopez Contribs 08:42, 12 June 2007 (UTC)
Italicising titles and tempi
editHi there! I've had to change a few of your recent edits to classical music articles. Please read MoS:MUSIC about the italicising of titles and Italian tempi. Also I've done some extensive reading into the Beethoven violin concerto. Pretty sure that Beethoven refused to take Clement's compositional advice meaning the Mendelssohn is the first to be composed with input from a violinist. Also, you seem like a knowledgeable editor. Why don't you join Wikiproject Classical Music? Centy – – 16:10, 10 June 2007 (UTC)
- OK. Actually I'm already a member of CM, so don't worry about that. But—I had read that we italicised phrases etc. in foreign languages, but does that not apply to articles about music? — $PЯINGrαgђ 19:55, 10 June 2007 (UTC)
- WP:MOS-T may help too. If you're italicising titles of works, it has to be a long work and not directly part of a longer work. I think... Will (talk) 15:16, 11 June 2007 (UTC)
I did it too lol

RESpe-ect
editWhy can't I keep the box. I am really concerned for Madeline McCann and I want the vigil. Please let me keep it, i want peeps to see how i care for Maddy. Christine118500 12:41, 14 June 2007 (UTC)
- I understand, but if you keep it in the way it is now it will look identical with my page, which doesn't go over too well with most users. Could you at least chane the format so it looks like your own? ;) — $PЯINGrαgђ 16:34, 14 June 2007 (UTC)
How do i do that? Christine118500 16:41, 14 June 2007 (UTC)
- Well one of my friends, User:Phaedriel is very good at changing and re-making format, and so if you just go and talk to her she will be more than happy to re do as much of your page as you like her to. — $PЯINGrαgђ 16:43, 14 June 2007 (UTC)
TE titles
editI think you might be right there, Beethoven sonatas and symphonies don't have the key, only the number. Looking at wikiproject classical music, they give a title example as "Symphony No. 40 (Mozart)". I think we should suggest a change in the main TE article's talk page. M A Mason 22:07, 14 June 2007 (UTC)
A gift... and a thought :)
editJust a short reminder of how important you are to me :) I need to write you an email, because there's much I wish to tell you... cross fingers that I find that calm moment asap! Love you, Phaedriel - 18:03, 15 June 2007 (UTC)
re-admining
editBit of a random statement - but I don't know when I should go for RfA - to be honest, I have quite a reputation for alienating female editors (however hard I try not to). I've also got in a few edit wars as well recently, so that's not going look well either. Will (talk) 21:28, 15 June 2007 (UTC)
- Oh…I understand. I'm sorry. — $PЯINGrαgђ 21:30, 15 June 2007 (UTC)
- No nead to be! In fact, when do you yourself think I should run? Will (talk) 21:35, 15 June 2007 (UTC)
- Well, I had thought that perhaps after your exams (although come to think of it today is June 15), and possibly either just before or just after mine. ;) You know, like one of us returning the favour to another. — $PЯINGrαgђ 21:40, 15 June 2007 (UTC)
- Yeah, but now it's not going to be a SpringeRFA (more like a SummeRFA... doesn't work). I was thinking about possibly running June 26, but now I really dunno. Will (talk) 21:59, 15 June 2007 (UTC)
- If you hurry up you and I both have six more days. :P That's fine, I understand. — $PЯINGrαgђ 22:14, 15 June 2007 (UTC)
I know: How about I nominate the both of you? Saves time and hassle, and makes it look slightly less odd. --tennisman 03:34, 19 June 2007 (UTC)
- Go right ahead. I was hoping to get 1000 mainspace edits before I ran but I'm over ¾ there so it should be close enough. — $PЯINGrαgђ 03:45, 19 June 2007 (UTC)
- Sorry, I closed the tab that had this page in it. Anyway, did you want me to wait until after your ER ends or just do it now? --tennisman 03:58, 19 June 2007 (UTC)
- ooh, those 1000+ User edits and -200 Wiki edits would kill you. Sorry that I didn't look at that first. Might want to hold off. I'll look at your ER then give you a yea or nay. --tennisman 04:01, 19 June 2007 (UTC)
- Probably wait until my ER has gone for at least a little while since I want to get peoples' opinions on things. Of course my previous one had several hits by the time it ran this long, but we will see… — $PЯINGrαgђ 04:00, 19 June 2007 (UTC)
- I've declined. I'm sorry, but I just don't think now is a suitable time. Will (talk) 11:53, 19 June 2007 (UTC)
:)
editGnoming on my talkpage - thanks Cliff! How are you, hope you're doing great. Riana ⁂ 00:00, 19 June 2007 (UTC)
- You're quick. :) I'm fine. Planning my next nap…(at least she's starting to sleep regularly) ;) — $PЯINGrαgђ 00:03, 19 June 2007 (UTC)
- Woah, big step! Must make things a lot easier for you! Riana ⁂ 00:06, 19 June 2007 (UTC)
- It is, quite. At least I don't have to work myself to death while I'm dog tired anymore; my sister and new brother-in-law moved in a while ago so that's easier. He has some real good advice (he's thirty and been married once before) that's also helped, and now I'm saving some money because I only have to pay ½ the rent check. :D — $PЯINGrαgђ 00:09, 19 June 2007 (UTC)
- That sounds pretty cool! The wedding and everything went well? Riana ⁂ 00:30, 19 June 2007 (UTC)
- Oh, quite well. :) — $PЯINGrαgђ 00:47, 19 June 2007 (UTC)
