Please bear these points in mind while editing Wikipedia:
- Respect copyrights – do not copy and paste text or images directly from other websites.
- Maintain a neutral point of view – this is one of Wikipedia's core policies.
- Take particular care while adding biographical material about a living person to any Wikipedia page and follow Wikipedia's Biography of Living Persons policy. Particularly, controversial and negative statements should be referenced with multiple reliable sources.
- No edit warring or abuse of multiple accounts.
- If you are testing, please use the Sandbox to do so.
- Do not add troublesome content to any article, such as: copyrighted text, libel, advertising or promotional messages, and text that is not related to an article's subject; doing so will result in your account or IP being blocked from editing.
- Do not use talk pages as discussion or forum pages as Wikipedia is not a forum.
The Wikipedia tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and discussion pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~ (the software will replace them with your signature and the date). Again, welcome! Hello. Your deletion of information about the Ukrainian origin of Michael Strenk is unacceptable. It is traditional that Strenk is a Ukrainian Lemkos of the Prechov region in Ukrainian and world historiography. In addition, Carpatho-Rusyns are not a separate nation, but only a sub-ethnographic group of Ukrainians. Your source is a blog and is not authoritative. There are the following sources about Ukrainian origin. Removing them is vandalism and violates the rules of Wikipedia. Please do not do this. Since I do not know English very well, the text may contain errors.--KHMELNYTSKYIA (talk) 19:58, 16 November 2017 (UTC)

editWelcome to Wikipedia. We welcome and appreciate your contributions, including your edits to Lemkos, but we cannot accept original research. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, ideas, and personal experiences—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. Thank you. Iryna Harpy (talk) 04:20, 17 November 2017 (UTC)
- Note, also, that WP:SELFPUBLISHed sources, such as the one you cited for the Michael Strank biography, are not reliable sources. Self-published sources or blogs are only of significance if the author is a known academic/scholar in the relevant field. It is also contingent on whether it is contingent to be WP:DUE. In this case, neither applies. --Iryna Harpy (talk) 04:32, 17 November 2017 (UTC)
Hi, Iryna. Thank you for the welcome. Regarding the edit to Lemkos, I simply reverted a change made by a vandal. Thank you for bringing to my attention that the information was inaccurate and for removing it. Have a nice day!
- You're welcome. I understand that you are a new editor, and that it takes some time to familiarise oneself with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. I have left a message/warning on the other editor's talk page regarding this edit summary. Even taking into account that the user's English may not be up to par, I fail to see how it could be construed as anything other than a personal attack against you. Such behaviour is not tolerated by the Wikipedia community so, should that editor display continue to display aggression towards you, please let me know immediately. Happy editing! --Iryna Harpy (talk) 05:01, 17 November 2017 (UTC)
Question
editI am pleasantly surprised that you are interested in studying the Ukrainian language and Ukraine as a whole. I did not see the Rusyn or Ukrainian origin from your notes on the user page. Let me ask, what caused your capture Ukrainian and Rusyn (Ruthenian) topic? I also believe that Michael Strenk article should be presented with both points of view. Good luck to you.--KHMELNYTSKYIA (talk) 19:47, 20 November 2017 (UTC)
