Notability of Alorah

edit

A page you created, Alorah, has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion on my talk page or alternatively on the Deletion Review page. However, it seems that your page is not compatible with our guidelines and the deletion will probably be endorsed.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. -- lucasbfr talk 10:33, 24 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Zeitgeist the movie

A tag has been placed on Zeitgeist the movie, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because it is an article about a certain website, blog, forum, or other web content that does not assert the importance or significance of that web location. Please read our criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 7 under Articles, as well as notability guidelines for websites. Please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources which verify their content.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on Talk:Zeitgeist the movie. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Thanks. ~Matticus TC 08:03, 29 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

hi, you have incorrectly deleted the page I have input. I have posted a Hangon tag, and within 5 minutes the page is deleted ... why has this occured?
"The given reason is: It is an article about a web site, blog, online forum, webcomic, podcast, or similar web content that does not assert the importance or significance of its subject. (CSD A7)"
is incorrect and does not apply to this, however i cannot correct his page since it is COMPLETELY DELETED now.Squarepush3r 09:37, 29 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
First, I did not personally delete the page, I merely tagged it; the actual deletion would have been done by an administrator (in this case, User:Stephen). Second, it was about a video posted on the internet but did not assert the importance or significance of the movie, nor did it provide any evidence of it being documented in third-party, reliable sources, so it was indeed eligible for deletion under the WP:CSD#A7 criteria (it is classed as "web content"). Third, placing the hangon tag alone does not protect a page from deletion, you have to follow that up by providing an explanation on the article's talk page. If you want the deletion of the article reviewed, open a case at deletion review. However, you may want to familiarise yourself with Wikipedia's notability (web) guidelines (as well as other important criteria, such as verifiability and reliable sources), as you will have to justify why this topic meets these criteria. Thank you. ~Matticus TC 09:45, 29 June 2007 (UTC)Reply
I just wanted to show that the page you have marked for deletion is in fact, up and strong now . Zeitgeist The Movie FYI, it is difficult to edit and add Wikipedia page entries, when they are deleted after 4 minuets even with hangon tags. In this case, the page obviously did justify review and consideration, as proof there is a remade page that will most likely not be deleted up at Zeitgeist The Movie . Its concerning that Wikipedia seems to be guided by subjective moderator opinion, rather than concrete rules and guidelines, as it is a seemingly reliable source where people gather information on the internet.
greetings Squarepush3r, I have just had WP:LOCK tag and a under construction tag removed from Zeitgeist the Movie by the user User:Stephen while I was actually editing it. I find that objectionable really as the edit history showed that I was under the process of editing. Can I also note that I had no idea you had already started a Zeitgeist page before. There was no notice saying that such a page was already started and deleted. The movie is of course a lot more notable since then I guess. However there are still forces trying to get the page deleted, and a discussion has opened up sinec an WP:AFD tag. If you can help improve the article please do. Cheers!
