If you have a close connection to some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred from the tone of the edit and the proximity of the editor to the subject, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors;
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam); and,
  4. avoid breaching relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for businesses. For more details about what, exactly, constitutes a conflict of interest, please see our conflict of interest guidelines. Thank you. Jehochman Talk 09:23, 9 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Ok, I will do this in future. Sorry again.--Lotsofinterviews (talk) 22:55, 9 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Adoption

edit

Hi Lotsofinterviews! I noticed you were looking for an adopter. If you are still interested, I would be happy to adopt you. » \ / ( | ) 12:33, 24 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Sure, I can make some tasks for you. But there is no point making you do boring tasks on articles you're not interested in. What topics are you generally interested in? In what areas do you want to edit Wikipedia with? The best way to learn how to edit is, well, to edit. Give me a buzz with a topic and I'll dig up a few articles we can do some editing exercises with. (Might be a day or two, what with this holiday season. :) ). » \ / ( | ) 22:49, 24 December 2008 (UTC)Reply
Erm I'm not sure really. Marvel comics? The TV show Heroes? Sorry for the late response.--Lotsofinterviews (talk) 21:12, 2 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
The best way to get involved in an area is to join a WP:WIKIPROJECT. Based on your last comment, you may be interested in WP:COMICS or WP:HEROES. Most Wikiprojects keep track of tasks that may be completed. I'll look around and find one or two articles that you can begin with. » \ / ( | ) 04:06, 3 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
I have started an adoption subpage, here, where we can focus on these areas. Be sure to check it regularly, perhaps adding it your watchlist if necessary. » \ / ( | ) 13:14, 3 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

Khoi Pham

edit

Hey LoI. I noticed your edit on Talk: Khoi Pham. If you believe an article should exist, feel free to request it here. I have tagged the talk page for deletion, however, as there is no article currently. Hope this helps, » \ / () 23:25, 30 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

You can start preparing the page at User:Lotsofinterviews/Khoi Pham, where you can write a draft, collect sources, etc. (just click that red link to start the page). Once the draft is done, Backslash Forwardslash or myself can show you how to move it into the main article space.
Also make sure you read the Wikipedia tutorial, which teaches you the basics of editing, and the the basic Wikipedia guidelines (especially the two guidelines WP:Notability and WP:Verifiability), which will help you learn how to make the article meet all our requirements so it doesn't get deleted.
If you have any questions, you can leave me a message at my talk page. rʨanaɢ talk/contribs 19:48, 28 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Adoption

edit

Hi. Given you haven't been too active during the last month(s), I'm going to be formally ending the adoption in seven days unless you feel a need to keep it going. Best of luck with your editing either way. \ Backslash Forwardslash / {talk} 14:17, 11 June 2009 (UTC)Reply
