We can include the quotes if we can give an explanation of the significance of these quotes.174.3.113.245 (talk) 03:56, 2 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

The boxes are not standard. These are tables, and according to wp:table, we need to make labels (in the language of the guideline, captions and row & column headings), clear.174.3.113.245 (talk) 01:14, 3 April 2010 (UTC)Reply

Wikipedia Ambassador Program at MSU

edit

Hi! I'm leaving you this message because you're listed as a Wikipedian associated with Michigan State University. The Wikipedia Ambassador Program is currently looking for Campus Ambassadors to help with Wikipedia assignments at MSU, which will be participating in the Public Policy Initiative for the Spring 2011 semester. The role of Campus Ambassadors will be to provide face-to-face training and support for students on Wikipedia-related skills (how to edit articles, how to add references, etc.). This includes doing in-class presentations, running workshops and labs, possibly holding office hours, and in general providing in-person mentorship for students.

Prior Wikipedia skills are not required for the role, as training will be provided for all Campus Ambassadors (although, of course, being an experienced editor is a plus).

If you are interested in being a Wikipedia Campus Ambassador, or know someone in the East Lansing area who might be, please email me or leave a message on my talk page.--Sage Ross - Online Facilitator, Wikimedia Foundation (talk) 20:27, 1 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

File:MSUSpartans Logo.svg and Michigan State Spartans football

edit

I agree this logo is an official logo for MSU. So is File:Michigan State Spartans logo.svg, as shown by [1] at their graphic standards site. In fact, you're using essentially the same logo on your userpage in a userbox. WP:NFCC #1 requires we use free content when and where possible. It's possible in this case. Therefore, the use here of File:MSUSpartans Logo.svg fails WP:NFCC. Please don't reinstate it again. --Hammersoft (talk) 20:54, 1 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

  • The Spartan silhouette logo is used to represent athelic teams and is the approriate logo for those articles. --St8fan
    • (Let's keep discussion in one place rather than two talk pages) Which is why, I'm sure, that logo doesn't even appear on the basketball uniforms? The standards note the block S is "a university-wide mark, available for use by all Michigan State University units." It does go on to state the helmet logo is the primary mark, but it's not the ONLY mark, and the block S logo is a free, accepted by the organization, alternative. Therefore, it fulfills WP:NFCC #1 and the helmet does not. --Hammersoft (talk) 21:19, 1 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Can we please stop engaging in revert warring while the discussion is going on????? --Hammersoft (talk) 21:20, 1 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

~ Actually it is on the basketball uniforms albeit small. (http://www.theoaklandpress.com/content/articles/2010/04/23/sports/college/doc4bd240b269232884330857.jpg) Over the spring MSU changed it's branding to a darker green and exclusive use of the logo for athletics. http://www.msuspartans.com/genrel/042210aaa.html The Breslin Center and Munn Arena were repainted with the Block S removed from center court/ice(http://i762.photobucket.com/albums/xx264/gaugerde/floooor.jpg). The Block S has been removed from all uniforms. Using the Block S the simply does not represent current branding of MSU's athletic teams and if an article about a sports team is to be accurate it should use the current logo.

~ Offically the Block S may be used by any unit, however, by any objective measure the Spartan logo is used for athletics. Moreover the Block S is a copyrighted logo of MSU as well so I'm not sure where you get this notion it's free. St8fan (talk) 22:25, 1 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion declined: W3G Marine

Hello St8fan. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of W3G Marine, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Article claims coverage in reliable sources. Thank you. — Malik Shabazz Talk/Stalk 03:20, 17 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

I've declined your speedy as it isn't nonsense in CSD terms. I've prodded it as an unnotable neologism. You're welcome to prod2 it if you want. Nonsense here is 'trxytv;i' or 'aardvark sempiternal fortuitous scrog'. Peridon (talk) 20:43, 17 July 2011 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of Kellogg Hotel and Conference Center

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Kellogg Hotel and Conference Center, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Secret account 20:56, 11 January 2012 (UTC)Reply
