Proposed deletion of Ajin (manga)

edit

The article Ajin (manga) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

No evidence of notability

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Welcome to Wikipedia.

I see you've had the misfortune of your first page creation being listed for deletion. In short, the page consists of nothing but a single paragraph and nothing to show that it's "notable". Or to be more specific in this example, it's a short work that hasn't been out long enough to gain sufficient discussion through WP:Reliable Sources. Or if it has, the page shows no indication of them.

This typically happens with newer series (especially those without well known existing works) that are only a few months old as most discussion of them occurs through fan sites and manga scan sites. I would say that you should not worry about it for now, and as you seem eager to work on Anime and Manga pages, I would suggest you take a look at Wp:ANIME and get a feel for Anime and Manga articles. We have a lot of articles that need some much needed work and we only have a limited amount of people.

I was in a similar situation to you when i first started editing, it can take some time to get used to things. That probably goes more for you as you will need to adapt to stricter processes than Wikia. If you wish to learn, I can give you some pointers. If you can give me some idea of what types of series you would like to contribute to I can find something you can use to learn how to do things. I learnt basically by working on a single article and getting it to a high standard before using that experience to do the same to other articles in need of help. Illegal Rare

edit

Do you have any evidence of notability for this 4 month old series from reliable sources? Running in Jump isn't enough, and series this young are very rarely able to show independent notability. It simply isn't old enough and far too early to tell if it will become notable or get cancelled in a month.

It's basically the same problem that we had with Aijin, but that had 3 volumes out, and enough coverage in reliable sources to just about get through (a few weeks before it was licensed). SephyTheThird (talk) 18:05, 20 June 2014 (UTC)Reply
