Wikipedia is an encyclopedia-- subjects of articles must meet notability guidelines with reliable sources which are unconnected with the subject and which provide verifiable information. Someone unconnected with the subject needs to have written a great deal about the subject. Please see WP:CORP for subjects that are groups or companies or organizations. Please see WP:ANYBIO for subjects who are people. Please see Wikipedia:Common sourcing mistakes (notability). Wikipedia:The Wikipedia Adventure is a useful tutorial.

Also, encyclopedia articles must be neutral in tone and not use language that promotes or advocates for a subject, or tries to cast the subject in a favorable light. Please see Information on content and common pitfalls to avoid here and here. Sometimes creators of promotional/advocational content are bewildered that it is considered such. If one has been trained to write such content, or if one has spent some time writing such content, one may simply be blind to non-neutral phrases or styles.

A common assumption is that the prohibition against promotional editing applies only to businesses or organizations. Anything can be promoted, including a person, a non-commercial organization, a point of view, etc.

CV's/resumé's are by their nature promotional. Writing about oneself or any connected subject is discouraged as the connection can make objectivity difficult. Information on avoiding advocational content and common pitfalls is here and here, however be aware that these are not exhaustive.

New article creation can be difficult, but the Article Wizard can help you. The new user tutorial can help you avoid future problems. Jovani Gonzales owner of La Segunda Brand

Jovani Gonzales is a designer from Glendale who enjoyed thrifting and finding nice material and pieces such as old blankets and fabrics. He later on quit his job and decided to make his own online tote bags store made from thrifted items. His first time dealing with sustainable fashion was when Jovani was still in high school. But even before that, he already had experience from recycling at home from his mom. She used to get containers from finished foods and reused them to store other leftovers. Jovani was used to seeing so many ways his family could take older and used materials and recycle them to be used in different ways. As it was common in Latino households to reuse certain things that were still usable.

Work Beginnings

Always being around the household that recycled, he used that knowledge to help create an idea to make his own tote bag. So he was curious and began to take apart a tote bag he already had to see how it was made and learned how to make his own version. At the beginning of his journey Jovani made his first tote bag for himself. This later became a hobby of his to do when he was in at college. After that, he made more tote bags to sell on his Instagram page and flea markets in Los Angeles.

His Growth He then decided to make a Tik Tok page to share more content of his tote bags. And a certain tote bag he made got some attention from yours which was a Virgin Mary bag he had made that had been seen on another TikTok page from another well-known Latino TikToker. It became a well-known bag because he is known for having many bags and he showed one of Jovani’s in his video and from there he began to receive many messages of where to purchase these bags. His most requested bags are usually the tote bags made out of thick blanket material as many of these blankets were a big part of his client's lives growing up and in Jovani's bags, he brings back those memories for his clients.

His Bags

Jovani's bags are one of a kind and one they sell out there gone. For this reason, he has become more popular as his designs are one of one so many see his page and wait for new releases. He usually finds his materials at thrift stores and uses every piece of material he bought to incorporate to his bags. His bags are always different and have that nostalgia look to them as many having images of old school designs or characters which is what many love from his work.

Future plans

Jovani Also sees himself in the future making other projects with his brand. These future projects include rugs, pillows and other products that can be made with secondhand materials just as his bags.
