Hey Steve, retrieving from WebCite is really simple. Let me toss a few bits of code your way:

• To check if a URL is in WebCite: javascript:void(location.href='http://www.webcitation.org/query.php?url='+escape(location.href))
• To archive a website: javascript:void(location.href='http://www.webcitation.org/archive?url='+escape(location.href)+'&email=ADD EMAIL ADDRESS HERE')

If you know how to create buttons in the Bookmarks toolbar, in either Firefox or IE, then just create a button for each of the snippits above. When you go to a website, you can use the first snippit to check if there is already an archive, and you can use the second snippit to automatically archive that page. You can also go to the WebCitation website and plug in a URL to check if it is in the archive, but the above method is definitely faster. Okay, assuming you have the toolbar running (if not, click "View", "Toolbars" and "Bookmarks Toolbar"), right click in an empty space and click New Bookmark. Give it a name such as "WebCite check", then in the location field paste the first snippit above. Repeat the process for the second snippit, using a name like "WebCite archive" or just "Archive", and make sure to replace the "ADD EMAIL ADDRESS HERE" bit with an actual email address, so you can store links to the different sites you've archived. I've set up my Yahoo email account to automatically route such emails to a separate folder so everything stays tidy and out of the way. — Huntster (t • @ • c) 22:38, 5 June 2009 (UTC)

Bob Allen

That is a fair point; he was in fact convicted and failed to have it overturned at the district court level also. Obviously this man is known largely for his arrest and the implied hypocrisy; however, as it was written the article was little more than a coat rack for the arrest and I think that one should seek to balance the conviction with other details of his career. Mediation Cabal Cases: List of Avengers members

I am not sure why you closed this: Wikipedia:Mediation Cabal/Cases/2009-01-08/List of Avengers members. It is still open. What is under mediation is what source can be used since their is a conflict in the source over D-Man's membership. The other side does not want any questionable category. Hello. Closing the case was more of a procedural action rather than actually acknowledging that there had been any formal resolution of the situation. The case had been open for over four months at the time, and in my experience, stale mediation cases generally require a fresh approach in a new case. Recycling is good, but not for everything, and in my opinion, not for mediation. My suggestion to you would be if there are still issues, to request formal mediation with the Mediation Committee. I apologize for not being more timely in responding. I won't even go into the "why or where" items. Regarding your RFAQ. I think they are good questions. One item I'd like to point out though, is on question number 2. You make the assumption that administrators are to be mediation functionaries. Actually, according to Wikipedia:Requests for administrator attention, admins do not resolve disputes. I think it's a good question to ask, but perhaps in a more neutral manner. (without making the assumption that it is a function of an admin.). Now I do realize that in practice, it does happen - but I don't think it should be an assumption of what admins do. Hm, I'm having difficulty explaining what I'm trying it to say. I'm basically asking the candidate where they have prior experience in resolving disputes. While, yes, admins don't normally do DR, I'm thinking of day to day things such as edit warring, page protection, and so on. This is, at a basic level, a dispute, and while administrators don't need to actively resolve disputes, they should at least be aware of how to resolve a situation peacefully and effectively. This way, they could determine the best possible solution to the certain situation in question. Does any of that make sense? I'm not touching arrticle content until Wikipðedia's gross stuopidities are dealt with. This is a menace to the creators of content, actively discrimiating against something that any Featured article needs to cover in reasonable detail.
