Speedy deletion nomination of User:Striker442

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on User:Striker442, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Just a heads-up on something which may or may not apply to you. If you are connected to someone or something you have written about (a few examples are writing about yourself, your business, your band, a member of your family, your client) then you should be aware that Wikipedia's conflict of interest guideline discourages you from writing about that subject. The main reason for that is that experience over the years indicates that editors with such a connection to a subject they are writing about are likely to find it very difficult, or even impossible, to stand back from their writing and see how it will look from the detached perspective of an outsider, so that they are likely to write in ways that look promotional to others, even if they sincerely think they are writing in a neutral way. Also, if your editing forms all or part of work for which you are paid, whether as an employee, as a contractor, or in any other capacity, the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use require you to state who is paying you, and what your connection to them is. Longcliffe

Hi - You have twice now added unsourced material to the article on Longcliffe. Please read WP:CITE and WP:RS. If you continue to add unsourced material you may be blocked from using wikipedia. Thank you. Dormskirk (talk) 08:36, 22 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

I chanced upon your edits to Longcliffe (and Donington Hall). It appears that you may have a conflict of interest in that your changes have been promotional to the business located therein. Please familiarise yourself with WP:COI, WP:PROMOTION and WP:NPOV, and also WP:Edit war. If you have any connection in promoting these businesses you should refrain from further direct input; suggestions for changes can be made at the Talk page.

I have toned down some content as a quick, intermediate edit and changed the layout to de-emphasise the existing business. Please also note that any change which alters the way in which the text is read and understood should not be marked as minor. Thank you.--Rocknrollmancer (talk) 11:10, 22 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
