Speedy deletion nomination of Ryan Thomas Woods

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Ryan Thomas Woods requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. — JJMC89(T·C) 05:00, 31 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of The Edgy Veg Cookbook

edit

Hello, Styles01. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, The Edgy Veg Cookbook, for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:

  1. edit the page
  2. remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. save the page

Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions.

Deletion discussion about Candice Hutchings

edit

Hello, Styles01,

I wanted to let you know that there's a discussion about whether Candice Hutchings should be deleted. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Candice Hutchings .

If you're new to the process, articles for deletion is a group discussion (not a vote!) that usually lasts seven days. If you need it, there is a guide on how to contribute. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

Thanks,

Managing a conflict of interest

edit

  Hello, Styles01. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places, or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic, and it is important when editing Wikipedia articles that such connections be completely transparent. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, we ask that you please:

  • avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your family, friends, school, company, club, or organization, as well as any competing companies' projects or products;
  • instead, you are encouraged to propose changes on the Talk pages of affected article(s) (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or to the website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Please take a few moments to read and review Wikipedia's policies regarding conflicts of interest, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. Thank you. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 21:32, 19 July 2017 (UTC)Reply

  • The reason I posted this is because I noticed that at WC you uploaded the book's cover, which has an OTRS ticket pending. Since only the copyright holder can give permission to OTRS, this makes it likely that you're in contact with the copyright holder(s). If you were asked to create articles for the author or for anyone else, especially if it was done in exchange for compensation. Some of the content you've added (such as for the now deleted article on the travel blogger) does have some slightly promotional tones to it, so it does come across like you have a conflict of interest. You can edit with a COI, but you must be careful to ensure that articles pass guidelines and you are required to disclose your COI. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 21:38, 19 July 2017 (UTC)Reply
  • Just for clarity's sake- no one has ever "asked" me to make write anything on wikipedia - I have only written about topics I have researched and haven't seen pages for. I didn't know how else to get copyright approval for any photos except to contact that copyright owner directly (their email is available on the website). Not sure how else people are supposed to obtain that. Styles01 (talk) 14:38, 20 July 2017 (UTC)Reply
