I think you should apply for WP:EFM - there's no reason for you to have to ask me or another EFM to make a change when your suggestions are always sensible, and more competent people willing to help around, especially with false positives and such, is always good. Fake references
I was looking at your reverts here[1] after discovering User:Sfox23/sandbox. There's a source used by Sfox23 that was also used by two other editors, one in the last few hours. See Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Schools#Problems with Columbia International College. Coincidence? Should this go to ANI to see if anyone has any ideas? Thanks. Doug Weller talk 09:27, 1 April 2019 (UTC)
- @Doug Weller: Something strange is going on here. See also the history of Welcome to Wayne, eg. Special:diff/886784312. One AGF explanation is that there's some Wikipedia tutorial out there that's using these as example references, and people are forgetting to replace them with real ones. But when I google for the titles of the fake refs, I find no such tutorial. A less AGF explanation is https://xkcd.com/906/. But why are they all using the same refs, if they're not related users? Note that Sfox23 claims to be a student editor, so I just assumed they didn't give a shit and copied some random results from Google Scholar. I have no idea what's going on now. Perhaps someone an ANI will have seen this before. Suffusion of Yellow (talk) 17:12, 1 April 2019 (UTC)

Difference between revisions & Warning: Vandalism on STEM School Highlands Ranch
Hello Suffusion of Yellow,
My name is Chris and I am opening up this Talk Dialogue to discuss an issue I have with the content on this particular page. I am a mental health professional for children who have psychiatric illnesses and I was doing some preliminary research about STEM School Highlands Ranch to look into the schools history to see if there were any issues or warning signs that had occurred at the school prior to today's tragic shooting that is becoming all too common, so I want you to know where I am coming from.
When I came across the Wikipedia page for STEM School Highlands Ranch, the History section of the last four lines read like this,
2017: Grades K-4 added, officially making the school a K-12. School is also renamed. 2018: Tech Free Tuesday is formed making kids protest and depressed 2018: Anti suicide programs are implemented to help lower chances of suicide and school shootings. 2019: STEM School Highlands Ranch shooting
So I took this line "2018: Tech Free Tuesday is formed making kids protest and depressed" and searched for news articles regarding this topic which talks about schools pushing for, and even sometimes forcing children to have to give Public Speaking Oral Presentations despite the fact that some children have very high levels of anxiety and depression and forcing them to do so (with the possibility that they may fail to meet expectations/present) may actually have a negative impact on their mental health and could possibly lead to suicidal thoughts and behaviors.
So when I read those last 3 lines (As a clinical Professional) I see, 1. Kids depressed 2. Anti-suicide programs 3. STEM School Highlands Ranch shooting
These are all red flags that something at this school went terribly terribly wrong (cause it means their Anti-suicide programs didn't work) When I had returned to the Wikipedia page this line had been removed "2018: Tech Free Tuesday is formed making kids protest and depressed" which is highly suspicious because that may have been the motivation for the shooting. I was very upset that someone had removed this from the reported history (that is a true fact, Tech Tuesdays do exist and it is making kids depressed) I made an error in judgement in noting that this line had been removed (which was an error on my part), but I was simply trying to to restore the History section to its original readout.
The fact that the whole "Tech Tuesday" line was removed shows omission of guilt and that someone by deleting that may have been trying to hide something. All I would like is that the line be restored because I think it is wrong that someone deleted it.
If I have to I will open up a "Dispute resolution request" because for future clinical researchers who will go back to study this case would be missing a critical piece of information if this line remains omitted. I hope that you understand and that we can come to some kind of agreement because knowing this could save lives.
Cmcdonough897 (talk) 04:52, 8 May 2019 (UTC)Chris
- Hello, Cmcdonough897. I assume you previously edited as 174.83.49.153. Nothing (well, except the one edit that the media is speculating about...but you can find it elsewhere now) has been hidden from the history so it's not clear what you mean by "omission of guilt". The line about tech-free Tuesdays was initially added (in slightly different form) by another user who also saw fit to inform the world that
Some children also believe that the school is considered a Nuclear Power Plant, however this claim is false and it is, indeed, a school.
In other words, just a bored student acting silly. It happens all the time, on every school article on Wikipedia. It's not a serious claim. - If I'm way off base here, then the claim would still need to be backed up with a reliable source. Particularly in such (now) high-visibility page such as this, it's simply not optional. If you can find such a source claiming that Tech Free Tuesdays were causing diagnosed clinical depression in kids at this school, then the line can be restored. But not otherwise.
- Finally, I apologize for calling your edits vandalism. At the time, thought you were just another troll copying something you had found in a reddit thread, so I didn't bother with a personalized message. Clearly, I was mistaken, and let me know if there is anything else I can help you with. Suffusion of Yellow (talk) 06:05, 8 May 2019 (UTC)

- Because I like my freedom to express myself and do not want to be held back by someone who just "thinks" he knows the facts of something while in reality things are pretty much different. The only part that you are right on in my opinion is the part where I mention my own name. I should not have done that. - @Keesdewit82: Okay. I just Googled for "Solaris" "Cryptsoft B.V." and the second hit was for an app called "Solaris Wallet" made by your company. So now we're up to COI number two. This has nothing to do with your "freedom to express" yourself, and everything to do with you using a non-profit website for advertising. Suffusion of Yellow (talk) 19:41, 29 May 2019 (UTC)

Dog's bollocks
Regarding this, the edit which you have described as a "test" looks like a good-faith attempt to use the rather outdated typographical convention of introducing a list with a colon followed by a dash. Example: see near the end of this, preceding the numbered list.

I often use the same tactic to force blocked users to admit something they wouldn't otherwise do so on their own. However, in this instance, the fact that the user was an UPE should be obvious to any administrator reviewing their unblock request. Something for July
Hi SoY, what do you think about this for July, I think MusikAnimal may be behind it as well. We are in need of more technical admins that can work very carefully. — xaosflux Talk 02:37, 29 June 2019 (UTC)
- @Xaosflux: Honestly, even thinking about the WP:BEARPIT just scares me. Now that there will be WP:FRAM-related questions, even more so. But I'll never rule anything out. OTOH if you want to restore my testwiki access I won't object; there's something WP:BEANSy (unrelated to today's discussions) I've been meaning to test before filing a phab. Suffusion of Yellow (talk) 02:51, 29 June 2019 (UTC)

- @Xaosflux: Thanks! No, I wouldn't plan on reversing office actions. But I won't condemn those who did, either, and I suppose that might offend some people. Suffusion of Yellow (talk) 03:12, 29 June 2019 (UTC)
- I wholeheartedly agree! You are a natural fit for this role. Framban would undoubtedly come up, but I think simply refraining from answering such questions, if you so desire, is more than acceptable. It doesn't really have anything to do with your potential as an admin. Waiting a little while wouldn't hurt either (though we could really use you as our best admins are dropping like flies...). Whenever you're ready, let me know, I'd be thrilled to (co-)nominate you :) — MusikAnimal talk 17:01, 29 June 2019 (UTC)
- Please consider this. We've lost 2 IAdmins and 26 admins, and we need more like you. You have my strong support --DannyS712 (talk) 17:31, 29 June 2019 (UTC)
- @DannyS712 and MusikAnimal: again. I really don't think it will be July, though. Suffusion of Yellow (talk) 17:37, 29 June 2019 (UTC)
- My suggestion - look at the 2 other RfA's that are running right now, and if you don't feel like there is a mob of people that are going to cause you grief for the fram-stuff, let us know? I'd be happy to jump on the co-nom wagon if MA wants to start it (saw your prior comments MA) - as I think you'd make a good 'tech admin' that will mostly stay out of the more routine drama situations. — xaosflux Talk 17:38, 30 June 2019 (UTC)
- @Xaosflux: Thanks again. But I still don't think it will be July. I have a large pile of unfinished scripts on my localhost that I'd like to continue working on, and I don't want the distraction right now. Suffusion of Yellow (talk) 18:10, 30 June 2019 (UTC)
