retro-computing

edit

hi, let me know if you want to collaborate on any retro-computing articles. BTW, take a look at the image for Spacewar.--mikeu 15:45, 4 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

There's a good start at Colossal Cave Adventure. I just discovered a stub at Honeywell 316 (Kitchen Computer) that needs a lot of expansion. We can have Dave takes some pictures at the next open house to illustrate some of the articles.--mikeu 13:41, 5 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Wikipedia:Meetup/Providence

edit

I've started advertising the Nov. 8 and Dec. 13 open houses at RCS as wikimedia meetups. --mikeu talk 13:54, 28 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

The Providence meetup is today. The plan is to try to meet between about 4-6pm and we'll be ordering pizza around 5pm. Note, that I will be there during the entire 1-8pm, and anyone is welcome to stop by, but I thought a more specific time might make it easier for people to plan attending. See the talk page for more info and discussion. --mikeu talk 13:02, 13 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

RCS images

edit

Dave and I have been uploading new images of the RCS collection. I've moved some of the images on wikipedia to commons:. There is now a commons:Category:Retro-Computing Society of Rhode Island. Also take a look at commons:Category:Gesellschaft für historische Rechenanlagen (München). --mikeu talk 14:30, 11 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Are you still active?

edit

If so do you have any photos of the Sun2 VME boards? As I recall there are 3: CPU board with 4 Mb memory 4 Mb memory expansion SCSI controller

The SCSI controller was smaller double wide, double high VME board that attached to the 4Mb expansion board like in the Sun3 line.

If you have photos could you add them to Wikicommons and the Sun2 article?

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
