Assessments on Tamil Wikipedia
Sundar,
Sometime back me and Natkeeran had a plan to assess Tamil articles for quality. I was going to treat the Tamil wikipedia as a project on it's own and build a quality vs importance table just like how we have it for the India project on English Wikipedia. I had posted this request to WP:1 people. Since you are a Perl expert, would you be able setup the bot code and run it on Tamil Wikipedia? Please let me know. Thanks, Ganeshk (talk) 03:12, 9 October 2009 (UTC)
- I am glad you are thrilled in getting assessments on Tamil wiki. :) It just needs setting up, does not require any additional programming (unless we are particular about translating the table headers). The bot runs based on assessment categories, so if they exist in the correct order/names, then WP1BOT (aka MathBot) should create the tables just like it does here on English wiki. User:CBM maintains the bot here and is willing to provide the code to other wikis. Here is what he said at that link,
The current bot code could be used on other wikis without too much work. However, setting up and running the code would require an operator with some knowledge of both bot operation and PERL programming. I cannot take on any new bot tasks at the moment. — Carl (CBM · talk) 03:31, 7 September 2009 (UTC)

I put some links to the bot code at Wikipedia_talk:Version_1.0_Editorial_Team/Index#Tamil_wiki. — Carl (CBM · talk) 14:08, 10 October 2009 (UTC)
