Hi Sunnymale. I wanted to personally tell you how appreciative I am that you stuck it out, dug deep, and proved that he really does warrant an article. Imagine my surprise after I initially thought it was a routine and obvious delete. I'm not sure your COI disclosure is needed, so long as the subject of the article isn't orchestrating your participation or urging you to make certain edits. Though it's totally up to you. I have made similar disclosures in some cases.
