You are now a Reviewer

edit

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

For the guideline on reviewing, see Wikipedia:Reviewing. Being granted reviewer rights doesn't change how you can edit articles even with pending changes. The general help page on pending changes can be found here, and the general policy for the trial can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. —DoRD (talk) 22:44, 11 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Warning templates

edit

Hello. Regarding the recent revert you made: please use warning templates in the future. After a revert, these should be placed on the user's talk page to let them know you considered their edit was inappropriate, and also direct new users towards the sandbox. In case you didn't know, there is a {{uw-unsourced1}} warning, which is ideal after this kind of edit. Thanks. mono(how's my driving?) 00:56, 12 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

The article on Hugh McFadyen is highly negative. If one compares it to the positive commenting on his political opponent Greg Selinger, one notices a strong political bias. I suggest deactivating BOTH pages (Greg Selinger and Hugh McFadyen) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 139.142.210.215 (talk) 21:07, 22 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

bin Laden

edit

I did cite it.[1] His death was announced today, but it didn't occur today. They had to have time to move the body and to conduct DNA tests. ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots04:12, 2 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

I think you're right. More details are emerging. I'm trying to remove my own comment from the "death of" article, but it's a fury of edits. ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots04:16, 2 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
I'll accept that he's dead. I don't think Obama (and George W.) would be publicly commenting on it if they weren't certain. This at least gets Trump off the front page for a day or two. I still wonder how they got the DNA testing done so fast. ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots04:25, 2 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
From a practical standpoint, this story was leaked before Obama could give his speech, so the probability of being able to keep it secret for an entire week is pretty small. ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots05:29, 2 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
All very true, Bugs. Glad for your civility; thanks for allowing me to explain why I reverted your edit. — Super-Magician (talk contribs count) 07:06, 2 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
Sometimes the "reliable sources" are less reliable than they might be. :) ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots09:00, 2 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
Oh, and if the "burial at sea" story is true (and who knows, at this point), then they haven't actually done the DNA work, but only went by visual recognition, and took DNA samples for later testing. I hope they've got the right guy. It would be trouble if the President had to hold another press conference and say, "Oops!" ←Baseball Bugs What's up, Doc? carrots09:02, 2 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Main page appearance

edit

Hello! This is a note to let the main editors of this article know that it will be appearing as the main page featured article on June 17, 2011. You can view the TFA blurb at Wikipedia:Today's featured article/June 17, 2011. If you think it is necessary to change the main date, you can request it with the featured article directors Raul654 (talk · contribs) or his delegate Dabomb87 (talk · contribs), or at Wikipedia talk:Today's featured article/requests. If the previous blurb needs tweaking, you might change it—following the instructions of the suggested formatting. If this article needs any attention or maintenance, it would be preferable if that could be done before its appearance on the Main Page so Wikipedia doesn't look bad. :D Thanks! ۞ Tbhotch & (ↄ), Problems with my English? 18:47, 15 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Possible removal of AWB access due to inactivity

edit

Hello! There is currently a request for approval of a bot to manage the AutoWikiBrowser CheckPage by removing inactive users, among other tasks. You are being contacted because you may qualify as an inactive user of AWB. First, if you have any input on the proposed bot task, please feel free to comment at the BRFA. Should the bot task be approved, your access to AWB may be uncontroversially removed if you do not resume editing within a week's time. This is purely for routine maintenance of the CheckPage, and is not indicative of wrongdoing on your part. You will be able regain access at any time by simply requesting it at WP:PERM/AWB. Thank you! MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 23:36, 8 November 2016 (UTC)Reply
