Your recent edits
editHello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You could also click on the signature button or located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 13:48, 13 October 2011 (UTC)
Userboxes
editHi SSB2. Firstly, its policy to write replies on the project page itself, so that discussion about the userbox is easily accessible to everyone. Anyway, because you've answered on my talkpage, I've replied here on yours and any continuing discussion stays here, although practical suggestions re your userbox I'll copy to that page so that all editors can benefit from it.
Anyway, I'm not sure why you are confused about "whipping the hair" from "whip". Please understand that Wikipedia is used and edited by people of all ages all over the world: many (if not a majority) of whom will have never heard of Willow Smith or her song. Most userboxes that reference some aspect of culture have an internal link on the appropriate word/phrase, and this would be a good idea for yours too. I assuming you know about internal linking and referencing - if you don't (or are not sure or experienced enough to be able to fix one yourself) then I strongly recommend you read up on it and then practice using it with articles, rather than making userboxes.
The point of having user pages is to give info about Wikipedia editors where that info is relevant to the project (which is writing an encyclopedia) - such as areas of expertise and subjects which you contribute to articles about. Please check out WP:User pages for the detailed guidelines. A little personal info is ok but again, this should be relevant to your interests and activities here and should not give away personal details. If you are one of our younger editors, then as well as the five points given with the welcome message*, check out here too.
As it stands now, your user page is basically a mash of Michael Jackson and Christian worship and whereas one or two userboxes or lines about those would be ok, please remember this is an encyclopedia not a social network site (see the WP:NOTMYSPACE section). For example, the Conrad Murray userbox is NOT appropriate: your views about criminal trials are NOT relevant here, so please remove it (I shall be contacting whoever designed it likewise). Please also note that just because others here may do similar things, doesn't mean its acceptable.
Finally, please remember to always use edit summaries, even if the edit is to your own user or talk page. Plutonium27 13:40, 14 October 2011 (UTC)
- I saw you didn't get the welcome message*, so I have added it to the top of your page.
Thank you Plutonium27
editThank You for your information, I have taken it to heart and edited my page, and user box. Yes I am younger and I have read up now. About the Conrad Murray user box, I created it, and I have taken it off of my page. Thanks Much, SUPER SONIC BABY 2 (talk) 14:26, 14 October 2011 (UTC)
- You are most welcome, and anytime.
- The Conrad Murray userbox thing is just one reason why always using edit summaries is so important - if you had done so, I could have immediately seen from your user page history that you created the box and so wouldn't have to go hunting (although I was already 90% certain you had created it...). BTW I'm also going after the Casey Anthony userboxes on that same new userboxes page too - and for same reasons.
- Your thoughtful response shows you are going to do just fine on Wikipedia so please stick around: we need you. My advice is take it slow, always have an extra tab/window on Wikipedia open at the same time to easily reference those policies, and concentrate on articles - preferably mostly outside of popular culture. For example, check out the pages on your neighborhood or ask your folks about theirs and see what you can improve there. But please please please stay away from editing: current affairs, politics, celebrities, and especially religious topics. Unfortunately, these are all too frequently highly contentious, with single edits being the subjects of months of painstaking arbitration. They really are not for novices to start editing with (although the articles - and their talk pages - are good for reading just to see how things eventually get worked out). And I guess you've seen already kids here who've come by thinking this is some kind of highbrow networking place, eventually most get bored and drop out and a valuable few stay and develop into productive and respected editors. So, any help or advice you want, I'm around and happy to do what I can, though that may mean I sometimes need to go check with someone else myself, but that's sort of the whole point about this place. All the best, Plutonium27 20:14, 14 October 2011 (UTC)
Thanks again and I'll consider your words. Thanks Much, SUPER SONIC BABY 2 (talk) 12:18, 15 October 2011 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of User:L-l-CLK-l-l/Images
editHello, and welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, introducing inappropriate pages, such as User:L-l-CLK-l-l/Images, is not in accordance with our policies. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. - (CK)Lakeshade - talk2me - 00:45, 5 February 2012 (UTC)
