Deepak Tripathi

Hello SurreyLibrarian

First of all, I was not questioning the notability of Deepak Tripathi - at least not for now. The "unreferenced" tag only means that the article does not cite any independent and verifiable sources. At the point of my placing the tag, and even now, the article does not cite any references to Mr Tripahti being employed by the VoA or the BBC. The only facts that have been referenced pertain to his father. You have provided some external links, which are not the same as references. And I don't understand what you mean when you say that Wordpress has accepted his blog. As far as I know, they don't check the accuracy of the content on a user's blog. Also a comment on a BBC website blog is hardly a reliable source. It seems that anyone can post a comment on that blog.

So to conclude, I am not questioning his credentials as a journalist. I am only saying that the article does not cite any independent and verifiable sources as to his achievements. I am inserting the "unreferenced" tag on the page again. Please reference the article properly before you remove the tag.

Please read Wikipedia:Verifiability. Since my last message, you have added one more reference - The NC Technology Resource Archive. However the article that is attributed to Deepak Tripathi is a letter to the editors, which in my opinion does not make it a reliable source. And as per Wikipedia's verifiability policy, comments on a blog by user, moderated or not, are not acceptable as sources. As for the lack of sources for the remaining claims, read here - Wikipedia:V#Burden_of_evidence. Now these are Wikipedia's core content policies, not "recent trends" as you put it.

You ask me to engage in dialogue instead of dictat, but you removed the tag without addressing the primary concerns. And as for my user page, it is NOT supposed to be an encyclopedia article. So verifiability, NPOV, etc do not apply to it.

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Deepak Tripathi is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.
