Speedy deletion nomination of User:Switfoot
editA tag has been placed on User:Switfoot requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section U5 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to consist of writings, information, discussions, and/or activities not closely related to Wikipedia's goals. Please note that Wikipedia is not a free web hosting service. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Speedy deletion nomination of Hot Pod
editIf this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Hot Pod, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:
- It seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. (See section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
- It appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), individual animal, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. (See section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

Hello
editHi @Switfoot:, I am a fellow new editor and just wanted to say that I saw your post in the Teahouse and thought it was interesting. I agree that Wikipedia's podcast coverage could use more work. I found this project: Wikipedia:WikiProject Podcasting that you may find useful. It looks like there are some active members there at least.
Your article on Dolly Parton's America was interesting to me too. However, I think the claim that it influenced Heartstrings needs a citation. I wasn't able to find one with a quick search, which is unfortunate because the page for the show is getting a lot of views recently. If you can find a source, it may be a good addition to the Heartstrings article as well.
Anyway, thanks for contributing! And best of luck to you with your future edits. :) -KathrynJZ (talk) 18:47, 27 November 2019 (UTC)
Thanks for pointing out the Heartstrings citation. When I was doing research for that initially I read something on a source that I found on google, but didn't cite it for some reason. Now I've gone back and it comes from a NYTimes story about Parton. [1] Will update. Switfoot (talk) 19:32, 27 November 2019 (UTC)
- @Switfoot: Thanks for the link! I checked it out, and here's the quote I think you were looking at: "She’s the subject of a popular serialized podcast (WNYC’s “Dolly Parton’s America,” hosted by Radiolab’s Jad Abumrad), the inspiration for a forthcoming Netflix anthology series (“Dolly Parton’s Heartstrings,” premiering Nov. 22), and the featured vocalist on an EDM song". I don't think there's a clear connection that the podcast inspired the series, just that they're happening at the same time. Sorry to go on about it, I don't mean to be rude or anything, I just think it's interesting stuff too. :) Have a good one! -KathrynJZ (talk) 19:52, 27 November 2019 (UTC)
Maybe I am misreading it, then. No offense taken. Feel free to correct. Switfoot (talk) 20:38, 27 November 2019 (UTC)

Hi Switfoot. I've reverted your edit at Laura Krantz because it was the biography of a living person without any reliable source. My recommendation is to create a draft or use your sandbox before adding content to the mainspace. Isabelle 🏳🌈 16:38, 10 September 2022 (UTC)
- Hi there. Thanks. I wrote up an entire entry for Krantz with citations, but it got deleted while pressing publish because of the existing redirect (I'm clearly doing something wrong). Luckily I'd copied the original text so it wasn't lost, but all the sources were removed. I published with the intention of adding the sources back in, but the article was removed before I could add the citations back. What is a better way to do this, since the redirect seems to make it impossible for me to create a new entry? Switfoot (talk) 16:42, 10 September 2022 (UTC)
