Smithsonian Institution Archives Edit-a-Thon and Meetup!

Who should come? You should. Really.
She Blinded Me with Science: Smithsonian Women in Science Edit-a-Thon will be held on Friday, March 30, 2012 at the Smithsonian Archives in Washington, D.C. This edit-a-thon will focus on improving and writing Wikipedia content about women from the Smithsonian who contributed to the sciences. It will be followed by a happy hour meetup! We look forward to seeing you there!

...and if you do not live in the Washington, D.C. area, please forgive the intrusion and you can delete this invite! Sarah (talk) 04:20, 8 March 2012 (UTC)

thanks for fixing the NPVIC figure

I actually wanted to edit your figure instead of creating a new one, but did not manage to find out how to do that. And I did not see how to put in the white lines around the single blocks (apart from editing every single block). SC has now recessed... however, now I *still* don't know how to overwrite an existing file in wikimedia. Can you help me? KarlFrei (talk) 12:43, 14 June 2012 (UTC)

never mind, I found the manual now :-) However, I still would like to know how to edit svg files more efficiently (I now used Inkscape and edited the 9 squares separately). In fact I think that there used to be a version which was more accessible, so that you only had to edit a list of states in the top of the underlying text file. But this version does not seem to contain such a list. KarlFrei (talk) 12:58, 14 June 2012 (UTC)
