Election map colouration

Hi there,

I've just seen the map you made for the recent Braintree District Council election. Really great work. I make quite a few maps myself and I was wondering how you were able to create the fill for the Hedingham seat (it has split Independent/Conservative representation shown as alternating, slanted lines of light grey and blue). I've seen the same type of fill used across other election maps on Wikipedia, but have struggled to replicate it myself. If you could give me any tips for how you made it (or, alternatively, point me in the direction of any documentation that explains how to do it) I would be very appreciative.
