Speedy deletion nomination of Digital content next
editIf this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Digital content next, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may be soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:
- It seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. (See section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.
- It appears to be about a person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), individual animal, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. (See section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. . Amortias (T)(C) 16:17, 11 March 2017 (UTC)I'm sorry, I really want to sort this all out.
TMC2017 (block log • active blocks • global blocks • contribs • deleted contribs • filter log • creation log • change block settings • unblock • checkuser (log))
Request reason:
new user, not a spammer. I will try very hard to fix the problems with my first page. It is an organization that is doing really important work to help protect consumers' privacy and if I've made errors, I want to correct them.
Accept reason:
per below discussion Amortias (T)(C) 15:10, 18 March 2017 (UTC)
- TMC2017. If you were to be unblocked how would you plan on creating or updating an article where it appears you have a conflict of interest. Amortias (T)(C) 21:07, 13 March 2017 (UTC)
- Amortias Okay, yes that is possible. I have written about them and I have written for them. But I am not employed by them. It was writing about them, reading their research, interviewing their CEO, and researching them online that made me surprised they didn't have a Wikipedia presence. As a lifelong journalist, I believe I can write an unbiased piece and conform to your editorial standards. But I do understand that you have to be careful.TMC2017 (talk) 14:24, 17 March 2017 (UTC)
- Would you be happy (if you were to write about the same organisation) to have it reviewed before publication by following the articles for creation process. This would allow you to also get advice on what changes would be required for it to be suitable for inclusion. Alongside this please be aware that a conflict of interest doesn't have to be paid, a close working relationship would be worth considering a COI.Amortias (T)(C) 00:33, 18 March 2017 (UTC)
- Amortias Absolutely. Now that I've done what I should have done at the start--and learned more about Wikipedia guidelines and processes--this seems like the most appropriate way to proceed. And yes, I am clearer on your COI policy as well. But as stated, my goal is to produce something unbiased and of professional standards, something I adhere to in my "day job" as well. I will adhere to the process you outline and not post anything prematurely. TMC2017 (talk) 15:00, 18 March 2017 (UTC)
- Amortias Okay, thanks for your patience. I've submitted it and now await comments and suggestions. I see that it may take a while, no worries.
