iCarly's relation to "Drake & Josh" and "Zoey 101"
I undid your edit where you took off "Drake & Josh" and "Zoey" from being related with iCarly because as it was stated in the links next to the shows in the reference section below, it gave a clear statement that characters from both shows appeared on iCarly. Craig, Eric, and Gavin from "Drake & Josh" appeared in the episode "iStar a Fan War" as well as Stacey Dillsen from "Zoey 101". Stacey later appeared in the episode "iHire an Idiot". Also, the character Quinn Pensky from "Zoey 101" was also referenced in the Season 3 episode "iWas A Pageant Girl," after Sam is called off-stage following her fried chicken "speech". An announcer can be heard calling Quinn Pensky to the stage. In an episode of Zoey 101, it is revealed that Quinn used to be a pageant girl and that her talent was ribbons. The pageant also took place in Seattle which was stated to be Quinn's hometown. - Jabrona - 08:38, 17 April 2012
- Okay, apologies. TRLIJC19 (talk) 20:58, 17 April 2012 (UTC)
No problem. I just wanted to let you know in case you didn't come across that on the view history page. I briefly wrote what I said above on there too in my edit summary. - Jabrona - 21:11, 17 April 2012
- Actually, the edits were valid. The changes were initially introduced by an IP in early March, but the guidelines for the template outline how "related" refers to direct links, not simply appearances by characters. I have removed the material again. --Ckatzchatspy 08:59, 18 April 2012 (UTC)
I told this to you on your talk page, but I'll say it here too so that TRL can see my view. I know the term related means connection. If spinoffs can count as a relation to another then I don't see why shows (that aren't a spinoff of the other) that crossover with another shouldn't count as a connection. They are established taking place in the same universe like a spinoff is to a parent show. TRL only made the edit not because of your reasoning but because he wasn't aware that the shows had characters appear on the other let alone the actors. As I also told you on your page, that IP user was only doing what's been done numerous times for years by other editors that seem like valid edits. I find nothing complicated about it but we can set up a discussion about this. - Jabrona - 19:58, 18 April 2012
- The best place for such a discussion would be at the Television project talk page, as it is of relevance to a wide range of articles. In the interim, I have once again had to remove the link as it appears to be a weak connection. (He characters were not introduced on one series, and then spun off; instead, it was simply guest casting, and I'm guessing that they were not really mentioned or otherwise referred to before or after the event.) --Ckatzchatspy 21:29, 18 April 2012 (UTC)
I can understand the weak connection between Zoey and Drake & Josh and Victorious, but there are the small ties such as the fictional movie "Galaxy Wars", the same amusement park featured on D&J where they and Megan went to rise the Demonator being featured in Season 4 of Zoey, I recall reading somewhere how Zoey can be seen on an iCarly website in one of the last episodes of the show. Dan can be complicated when it comes to this though in which at the same time he can mess up the continuity by having D&J referenced as a show in iCarly (can be heard in the background on TV in Season 4 and directly on screen for a brief second in "iToe Fat Cakes") and Victorious (in "Who Did it To Trina?" directly after the last aired episode where Helen guest stars in and the characters flat out referenced it a TV show). - Jabrona - 22:47, 18 April 2012
- I am no longer an asset in this conversation so please continue discussion somewhere besides my talk page. TRLIJC19 (talk) 01:10, 19 April 2012 (UTC)
