"Should articles exist for every single verse in 'the Bible'?" "What constitutes 'the Bible'?" Since my answer to the first one is "no," an answer to the second is unnecessary. There can be articles on quotes or lines not in "the Bible."

"Should articles exist for only notable verses?" "Who determines notability?" If a Wikipedian is willing to contribute more than five sentences of non-boilerplate information, then I would say that it is fine for inclusion. The problem of unevenness is an inevitable consequence of wiki anyway. What gets written is what people want to write on.

At the same time, I think that there should be a "Bible commentary" wikibook project into which peope who want to comment on every verse of the Bible can funnel their efforts.

If you really want a so-called objective metric, I submit using a threshold of Google matches for the literal string in quote marks (such as "John 3:16" [596,000] or "Matthew 1:9" [891]). I would set the threshold at 2,000. --Peter Kirby 06:25, 12 August 2005 (UTC)
