editWelcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page The Warning (Mexican band) has been reverted.
Your edit here to The Warning (Mexican band) was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (http://Link:%20%20[1], https://vimeo.com/123886397) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. If the external link you inserted or changed was to a media file (e.g. a sound or video file) on an external server, then note that linking to such files may be subject to Wikipedia's copyright policy, as well as other parts of our external links guideline. If the information you linked to is indeed in violation of copyright, then such information should not be linked to. Please consider using our upload facility to upload a suitable media file, or consider linking to the original.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. editHello, I'm Jac16888. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions have been undone because they appeared to be promotional. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted; Wikipedia articles should be written objectively, using independent sources, and from a neutral perspective. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. Jac16888 Talk 12:31, 26 August 2017 (UTC)
Blocked
editThere have been two problems with this account: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group, which is also against policy, as an account must be for just one person. Because of those problems, the account has been blocked indefinitely from editing.
If you intend to make useful contributions about some topic other than your business or organisation, you may request an unblock. To do so, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}}
at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:CentralAuth to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy. Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In that reason, you must:
- Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
- Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
{{unblock|Your reason here}}
at the bottom of your talk page, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. Ian.thomson (talk) 17:39, 26 August 2017 (UTC)- Given the nature of your edits, the "TW" in your name is obviously a reference to "The Warning". Ian.thomson (talk) 17:39, 26 August 2017 (UTC)
Hi. TW is absolutely a reference to The Warning, since this account was created solely to expand their wiki so the many older fans like me who are interested in this band have a way to learn something about them, because the band's web page and Facebook fan sites don't have much content. I'm just an old man, donating his time to what I consider a worthy cause, and you accuse me of all sorts of evil transgressions without having the decency to first send me a message and ask me what I'm doing. It's no wonder the only people willing to work on wikis anymore are professional writers. I was able to download my 100 hours or so of research and work, so just tell me how to delete my account, and I'll leave be on my way. I unfortunately linked my personal email to this account, so I'll also make a filter to send all the threatening and lie-filled emails you assholes are sending me into the junk bin. Have a nice day.... TWwiki-1 (talk) 19:15, 26 August 2017 (UTC)
since this account was created solely
- In other words, WP:NOTHERE applies.to expand their wiki
- This is not their wiki. This is Wikipedia's wiki. This community may have an article about them (for now) but they don't own it.It's no wonder the only people willing to work on wikis anymore are professional writers
- LOL, waaay off. We're all volunteers.just tell me how to delete my account
- we don't delete accounts.I unfortunately linked my personal email to this account
- good, you won't be able to use that email address to create a new account. Huh, maybe that's why we don't delete accounts?I'll also make a filter to send all the threatening and lie-filled emails you [...] are sending me
- Go to the Notifications section of Preferences and turn off email notifications for events you don't want to receive emails for. It's not our fault you haven't configured your account properly.you as

Sir, as a first time contributor I admit that I made a number of errors, out of ignorance. But your arrogant attitude is very unprofessional. You've made a number of assumptions and accusations, without proof, that have had serious consequences. You seem to think this conversation is some sort of game that you've somehow "won" because you have administrative powers, and you know the rules better than an inexperienced newcomer. And you do this while hiding behind "we" and "our", implying that your actions are endorsed by the Wikipedia community. You may be a volunteer, but it doesn't seem like you're doing it to be helpful, you're doing it so you can be a bully.TWwiki-1 (talk) 20:13, 26 August 2017 (UTC)
- It's not so much that I think this is a game, as I realize there are not serious consequences. Or, at least, there are no serious consequences for me because I registered to help the site instead of registering to promote something. My income isn't tied to my account. In fact, most editors whose incomes are not tied to their accounts or to articles here do not face "serious consequences."
- There's a very simple way out of this. Look up at the instructions in the block notice. Use the unblock request template, putting in a new user name, and in the "reason" section promising not to use Wikipedia promote anything (be it a band, company, religion, whatever). Trying to blame other people won't work, especially for your admitted promotional behavior. It is not our fault that you registered specifically for a purpose that this site is not intended for. That you posted the manager's email address rather gives the impression that you are connected, despite what you say. At this point, you're probably gonna have to promise to never edit The Warning (Mexican band) article again if you want to be unblocked. Acting entitled and indignant accomplishes nothing.
- To be clear: you need to use the unblock request template that you can find in the block notice, replace "Your proposed new username" with a new username, replace "Your reason here" with a promise to not use the site for promotional purposes and a promise to not edit The Warning again.
