Baerenthal

Hi Tamarkot -- Great work tidying up the French translation page - good to see you getting going on Baerenthal. Is your question about this bit: "Berendal, la vallée de Bero"? If so, what do you think about leaving Bero in italics, as in the original? It looks as this could either be a name or an old spelling of the German for bear. (The dal/thal/tal bit is the German for valley (dale).) --HJMG 10:25, 19 March 2006 (UTC)

I think I'll leave anything capitalized as is--most of these villages are so small that Anglicizing them is a bit silly, I think. So Bero will stay as is. And Nordgau alsacien → alsatian Nordgau, d'you think? (And hee, thanks for dropping by!)) Tamarkot 15:40, 19 March 2006 (UTC)

P.S. Make sure the new proposal is not like stub sorting...It too was designed for humans, now more and more bots are getting into the act. Categorization is something that we all would rather not do.:-)

The cleanup thing looks like a REALLY big project (>10000 articles! crazy!), but my guess is that it'll be something quite similar to stub sorting, from what I know of the stub situation. On that note, is human stub sorting pretty much outdated now? Tamarkot 03:02, 22 March 2006 (UTC)

Was going to do a quick proofread on bernstein for you, but the eng & fr articles you linked to don't copy to the same person - which is the French wiki's? Added ref for the 'rachel' definitions btw. Please advise if you find any probs on my trans? Thanks for the Slavery comment - have gotten a bit of a bug reading the ancient greek stuff - hadn't looked at this since high school many years ago. Request for help=

Hello! There was an article (in english, but seemingly translated from a Polish website) about a Japanese-born Krakow performance artist Miho Iwata up for Afd recently. Since art and performance are my interests, I promised to wikify the article to help avoid its deletion and did so. The artist has an interesting-looking list of credits, and I actually learned a bit about the Polish art scene in the process. However, I do feel a little bit like a fish out of water here, since I don’t know much about the people and organizations she’s associated with. I did a fair bit of poking around and was able to alter some of the alternate spellings to create links. However, I’d feel much more comfortable if a native Polish speaker would read the original article in the history and my version to a)make sure I didn’t make any errors in linking b)add any relevant information c)let me know what their opinion is about the notability of this person’s accomplishments. There’s also one specific sentence that has me completely scratching my head and I could use some help figuring out. Thanks! Dina 21:40, 28 August 2006 (UTC)

Hi. You undertook a project a while ago, to translate fr:Sorbonne → Sorbonne. The Fr->En translation page still lists it as an active project. I was wondering what the status was, and if you could either move it down to the Completed section or (if the translation hasn't been completed) to Loose ends. I think it should be marked as complete, and yes, I'd put it on the talk page (if the problem is severe -- otherwise just replace the text and let people edit/correct it: just put an {{disputed}} or {{fact}} tag on the statements you think are incorrect). That's just my opinion, though -- I don't have too much experience with this myself. I've only done 2 translations for wikipedia: Hippias Minor and Seille.
