Welcome to Wikipedia! I got involved on this page when by chance I noticed that someone without a Wiki name had erased your name from the discussion and substituted another. When I reverted it two different named accounts tried the same thing several times over several weeks and in several forms, all of which I reverted. You can watch the play-by-play of all the action by clicking on the "history" tab for Defense independent pitching statistics. The Talk page you visited contains the protests about my reverts from the third account and my responses, though an admin counseled me I should have improved the article by editing it rather than just reverting the name-substitution to a prior version. A major goal around here is to avoid "edit wars" and in general editing rather than reverting sets off fewer arguments. (I'm still learning the ropes, too.) Since the content itself is outside my area of interest I'm very glad to see better informed editors here. OverInsured 21:59, 15 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

  Hello, I'm Creffett. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to WOBA have been undone because they appeared to be promotional. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted; Wikipedia articles should be written objectively, using independent sources, and from a neutral perspective. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. creffett (talk) 17:42, 5 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames which give the impression that the account represents a group, organization or website, I have blocked this account; please take a moment to create a new account with a username that represents only yourself as an individual and which complies with our username policy or request a change of username.

You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose. Additionally, If you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for your contributions to Wikipedia, you must disclose who is paying you to edit.

If your username does not represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page.

You may simply create a new account, but you may prefer to change your username to one that complies with our username policy, so that your past contributions are associated with your new username. If you would prefer to change your username, you may appeal this username block by adding the text

{{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}

at the bottom of your talk page. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names.

 Thank you. Mfield (Oi!) 05:29, 6 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

Request reason:

wOBA has its own wiki page; wOBA is a metric I created, so I was updating it with relevant material

Decline reason:

The problem is simply your username, which must not be the same as a company, organization, website, etc. So please follow the instructions in the block message. Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 08:17, 30 July 2020 (UTC)Reply

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
