Hey you
editThose were some good edits on John Green. Someone thought some of it wasn't notable, too bad. You could probably bring it up on the article's talk page if you want to discuss it. P.S. If you use edit summaries it helps you not look so much like a newbie, which sometimes means you get taken more seriously here. It also helps to put something on your userpage so it isn't a redlink! </boring nagging> :) See you around! XOXO Katr67 (talk) 06:33, 8 December 2009 (UTC)
- Thanks for the note! You can put anything on your user page to make it not a redlink, even just one sentence like "Hi, I like to edit articles about..." whatever it is. Depending on your level of paranoia (mine is pretty high anymore) it's probably best not to mention too many details about yourself, you know--age, full name, specific location, things like that. I'm sure you've gotten the cyber-safety spiel. Next step, learn about userboxes, and go crazy! I found this page: Category:Wikipedians who like Doctor Who which might get you started. Another good way to get involved in editing is to join a WikiProject and find ways to help out. Here's one you might enjoy: Wikipedia:WikiProject Doctor Who. A note on user pages--going crazy once one discovers userboxes is normal behavior, but at some point it has to be remembered that Wikipedia is not a social networking site. Also, I'm all for adding things to one's page that show one's personality, but at some point I don't think knowing what someone eats for breakfast helps get an encyclopedia written. Anymore, as you can see from my page, I just let people know I've been around a while and let my interests and accomplishments speak for me (and if they're mad at me, hopefully they'll read the FAQ). Oh yeah, and my Lubutnum III, which I adore. Looks like you're eligible for the {{Signator}} award. I assume you'd prefer the awards with the publications and not the boring badges. If I were you though, I'd be working towards the {{Novato}} because, well, just look at it! Check out the pages of some of my pals from WikiProject Oregon--they are more typical than mine:1, 2, 3, 4, 5. Oh, you know this guy too. I miss you!
