Replaceable fair use Image:Josh Hartnett 2009.jpg

edit

Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Josh Hartnett 2009.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Polly (Parrot) 15:10, 3 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for File:I Come With The Rain 2.jpg

edit

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:I Come With The Rain 2.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Polly (Parrot) 15:23, 3 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Orphaned non-free image (File:I Come With The Rain 4.jpg)

edit

Thanks for uploading File:I Come With The Rain 4.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Polly (Parrot) 15:24, 3 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Please stop adding inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Bunraku (film). It is considered spamming and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, additions of links to Wikipedia will not alter search engine rankings. If you continue spamming, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Upping to a level three warning because you ignored the edit summary and provided zero explanation for re-adding it. The link cannot be included as it violates points #1, 2, 3, 4, 6 (some items are flocked), 10 and 11 of WP:ELNO. Continuing to add the link can be seen as disruptive and you could be blocked. If you think the link should be considered, take it to the discussion page or WP:ELN. 132 22:26, 19 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

Girl Walks into a Bar

edit

Please know that we present titles in a certain title case as described in WP:NCF. Not all other websites and sources have the same standards for title case. So please, don't change Girl Walks into a Bar to another title, especially the way you did before. We don't copy-paste articles into others; we need to maintain the revision history of article as a part of fair-use and the GNU license. If you are having trouble moving a page, perhaps look at why it isn't moving, start a discussion on the talk page and then request a move. Thank you! BOVINEBOY2008 17:46, 20 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Please do not add or change content without verifying it by citing reliable sources, as you did to Winona Ryder. Before making any potentially controversial edits, it is recommended that you discuss them first on the article's talk page. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Cresix (talk) 16:07, 9 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Please stop adding inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Singularity (film). It is considered spamming and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Paris Opera Ballet

edit

I made some changes to information you added to the article Paris Opera Ballet. Some of your information appears to have derived the history page at the Paris Opera website. Not all of the information on that anonymously authored web page agrees with other more extensive and scholarly sources. The Wikipedia article clearly needs more work, but I hope the changes I made improve its accuracy. --Robert.Allen (talk) 20:52, 19 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed content from Bunraku (film). When removing content, please specify a reason in the edit summary and discuss edits that are likely to be controversial on the article's talk page. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the content has been restored, as you can see from the page history. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Stop your unnecessary removal of the Gackt template, as this is essential for readers to know more about the artist starring in the film. Areaseven (talk) 09:22, 28 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Parts Per Billion (film), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Script (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
