editHi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot (talk) 21:17, 13 April 2008 (UTC)
RE:Problems in the eyeOS article
editHi there Teddybearnow, I have had a look at the edit history of the article and I don't think that a semi-protection would be warranted or appropriate at this time. Whilst there was a flurry of edits last night there has been no activity at all for the past 10 hours. Also, for the future whilst I will of course do my level best to help any one who needs it, I am not online 24/7 so the best place for this type of request is at requests for page protection where it will be dealt with in a much more timely fashion - I didn't even read this message until over 12 hours after you had left it! See you around, kind regards, nancy (talk) 18:28, 14 April 2008 (UTC)
FYI: A discussion involving you was started at Wikipedia:Wikiquette alerts. --Onorem♠Dil 20:26, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
I'm really trying to resolve this issue by discussing it with you, but I can't if you keep attacking me. I've filed a Wikiquette report. All I can ask is please stop attacking me over this imaginary company that is making money off of defacing a Wikipedia page, because that's just ridiculous :D [1] Psychcf (talk) 20:29, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
- You are the owner of a project competition of eyeOS, you don't have a neutral point of view, and you have a conflict of interests in this article, maybe you should start working in other articles. Teddybearnow (talk) 20:32, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
- While I absolutely agree with you (Teddy) that these people have COI with those articles, I would suggest that you try to Assume Good Faith, or at least give the impression of Assuming Good Faith, as accusing people of advertising, anti-advertising, or sock/meat puppetry can often cause offence. As Psychcf has agreed to stop editing the article in question (and I would assume the article of his own product too), perhaps you could try to be less aggresive with him and we could consider this resolved? - ok, i'm sorry about my behavior if it have been aggressive, english is not my native language and sometimes I don't find the way to say some things, sorry. Psychcf have agreed to stop editing the article, and I have no personal problems with he, so, we can consider this solved. Thanks. Teddybearnow (talk) 13:26, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
- Yeah, no hard feelings man. I think the flat files vs database server topic is something that should be mentioned though. In one hand, you've got something that's super easy to set up, while on the other hand you've got something that's super scalable. I wouldn't put it in a criticism section, but rather in the structure section. Psychcf (talk) 14:43, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
- Replying to what you wrote on Restepc's talk page... The difference between a regular desktop and a web desktop is that a web desktop can be accessed by hundreds of thousands of people at once. A database server is a workaround to the bottleneck that flat files have, because a DB server will cache query results, keep indexes of values so it's faster when looking up values, allow multiple users (or a single user with multiple connections) to access multiple parts of the database at once, etc. The issue with that is that it's a pain to set up, especially to the average user. Take a look at [2] if you'd like to read more about this. I'm just making a friendly suggestion, don't get so crazed. ;) Psychcf (talk) 23:54, 16 April 2008 (UTC)

Teddybearnow, are you involved with the eyeOS product in any way? Restepc (talk) 21:22, 16 April 2008 (UTC)
- No, i'm not involved with eyeOS in any way. I'm a user who likes eyeOS, and don't like to view the article edited with lies and trys to give bad reputaiton, written by Psychcf and Jaymacdonald, who are developers of a competition project (psychdesktop) that is known to have a non-friendly relation with eyeOS. I think that competition problems between psychdesktop (Psychcf and Jaymacdonald) should be solved in other ways than starting flames in wikipedia. Teddybearnow (talk) 05:25, 17 April 2008 (UTC)
