Your suggestions at Wikipedia:Village pump (proposals)
editYou have made several suggestions now, and all of them have the same integral flaw: they conflate a reference work constructed in a cooperative manner, with a social network. Wikipedia is not Facebook, MySpace, Gaia Online or even LiveJournal, ; any suggestion that we spend our time Skyping each other instead of using ordinary text-based communications to build a text encyclopedia, or setting up "Like" buttons and that sort of thing, is going to meet a mixture of indifference, loathing and outright anger at your proposals. We don't come here to chat, we come here to build an encyclopedia; and I'm afraid that some of us get a bit grumpy when suggestions are made that seem to not understand our fundamental purpose. --Orange Mike | Talk 14:33, 27 January 2012 (UTC)
- Most of us don't see these proposals as improvements, since they do nothing to improve the contents of the encyclopedia: therein lies the problem. --Orange Mike | Talk 16:22, 27 January 2012 (UTC)
- Now did you keep the preceding in mind when you made this?Jasper Deng (talk) 05:41, 24 March 2012 (UTC)
Wikipedia Mumble
editHi Tegra3, on VPP you suggested setting up a Teamspeak server. Mumble is an open-source alternative to Teamspeak, and an unofficial Wikipedia Mumble server has now been set up. Please read details at Wikipedia:Mumble and feel free to join in. Dcoetzee 23:36, 2 February 2012 (UTC)

Mark WikiProject Linux as inactive?
editHi! I was directed to your talk page by the participants list on WikiProject Linux. I've started a discussion whether we can keep it running, or mark it as inactive.– Abuluntu ( talk 05:50, 28 October 2020 (UTC)
