Speedy deletion tagging
editHi. You were absolutely right to tag Joshua giles obrien as {{db-person}} just now, and I have duly deleted it; but you should also have copied to the author's talk page the warning which is generated at the bottom of the db template when it is expanded onto the article page - otherwise, they don't know what they have done wrong or what has happened to their article, and usually they just put it in again. Also, when you look at the author's talk page, if they appear to be new and have not yet had a welcome paragraph, it's important to put {{subst:welcome}} ~~~~ on the talk page before the warning; that softens the biteyness of the warning and gives them useful links to learn more about contributing. Keep up the good work - New Page Patrol needs all the eyes it can get! Regards, JohnCD (talk) 19:28, 17 November 2009 (UTC)
- Thank you, I'll be sure to do that in the future. Tejanse (talk) 15:11, 18 November 2009 (UTC)
I've removed your speedy delete tag from this article as context was clearly there - it's claimed he was the illegitimate son of a King of England and that's context. Being the son (albeit illegitimate) of a King of England is also enough of a claim to notability to avoid an A7 speedy. Dpmuk (talk) 13:14, 26 April 2010 (UTC)
Deletion nomination of Talk:Bohaterów Monte Cassino Street
editHi Tejanse, this is a message from an automated bot, regarding Talk:Bohaterów Monte Cassino Street. You blanked the page and, since you are its sole author, FrescoBot has interpreted it as a request for deletion of the page and asked administrators to satisfy the requests per speedy deletion criterion G7. Next time you want a page that you've created deleted, you can explicitly request the deletion by inserting the text {{db-author}}
. If you didn't want the page deleted, please remove the {{db-author}}
tag from the page and undo your blanking or put some content in the page. Admins are able to recover deleted pages. Please do not contact the bot operator for issues not related with bot's behaviour. To opt out of these bot messages, add {{bots|deny=FrescoBot}}
somewhere on your talk page. -- FrescoBot (msg) 09:01, 1 May 2010 (UTC)

Removal of the Calaméo article
editHi!
I do not understand why the article about Calaméo was deleted since we can find articles on our competitors: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Issuu http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scribd etc.
The article was clearly a draft that needed many changes to make it even more neutral but now that it has been deleted, it cannot be edited anymore...
Can you restore it and provide me with some guidelines so the article can be corrected?
Thanks. Cheers! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.230.182.99 (talk) 11:24, 2 November 2011 (UTC)
New deal for page patrollers
editHi Tejanse,
In order to better control the quality of new pages, keep out the spam, and welcome the genuine newbies, the current system we introduced in 2011 is being updated and improved. The documentation and tutorials have also been revised and given a facelift. Most importantly a new user group New Page Reviewer has been created.
Under the new rule, you may find that you are temporarily unable to mark new pages as reviewed. However, this is nothing to worry about - most current experienced patrollers are being accorded the the new right without the need to apply, and if you have significant previous experience of patrolling new pages, we strongly encourage you to apply for the new right as soon as possible - we need all the help we can get, and we are now providing a dynamic, supportive environment for your work.
Find out more about this exiting new user right now at New Page Reviewers and be sure to read the new tutorial before applying. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 04:29, 13 November 2016 (UTC)
