Welcome!
Hello, Texan527, and welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, such as Connor Vanek, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's content policies and may not be retained. In short, the topic of an article must be notable and have already been the subject of publication by reliable and independent sources.
Please review Your first article for an overview of the article creation process. The Article Wizard is available to help you create an article, where it will be reviewed and considered for publication. For information on how to request a new article that can be created by someone else, see Requested articles. If you are stuck, come to the Teahouse, where experienced Wikipedians can help you through the processes.
New to Wikipedia? Please consider taking a look at our introductory tutorial or reviewing the contributing to Wikipedia page to learn the basics about editing. Below are a few other good pages about article creation.

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, ask me on my talk page. You can also type {{help me}} on this page, followed by your question, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Again, welcome! Speedy deletion nomination of Connor Vanek
Although everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, introducing hoaxes, such as Connor Vanek, is considered to be vandalism and is prohibited. If you are interested in how accurate Wikipedia is, a more constructive test method would be to try to find inaccurate statements that are already in Wikipedia—and then to correct them if possible. If you would like to make test edits, please use the sandbox. Under section G3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, the page has been nominated for deletion. Repeated vandalism may result in the loss of editing privileges.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. August 2024
Hello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions, such as the edit(s) you made to Home economics, did not appear to be constructive and have been reverted. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make test edits, please use your sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. We keep the lead matching with the article title. If you think the article title should be changed, see WP:RM. Bsoyka (t • c • g) 20:29, 2 August 2024 (UTC)
- @Bsoyka I was trying to update it to what it is now. It hasn't been called that since back in the late 1900s and in modern times, it is Family and Consumer Sciences. Please let me know if there is any way I can help you fix it since it's outdated, thanks! Texan527 (talk) 22:11, 2 August 2024 (UTC)
- I understand where you're coming from, and at a first glance I somewhat support your idea — as I mentioned at the end of my message I recommend requesting a move for the article to be renamed. That'll start a community discussion, and we can go from there. 142 people watch the edits to that page, and it's viewed ~10k times per month; it's hard to unilaterally change the article title, which also appears ~100 times in the article and in reliable sources. When you request the move, I'd recommend sharing sources that specifically say the name has changed over time. For example, [1] and [2] might be a good place to start. Happy to help you through the process, so don't hesitate to reach out! Bsoyka (t • c • g) 22:22, 2 August 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks, I found the tool and figured out how. But I fear if I click the button it will automatically rename the page without a discussion. Please help me when you get the chance. Texan527 (talk) 22:44, 2 August 2024 (UTC)
- Just follow the steps at WP:PCM. Hope that helps! Schazjmd (talk) 22:47, 2 August 2024 (UTC)
- Can you check if I did it correctly? Thanks! Texan527 (talk) 23:04, 2 August 2024 (UTC)
- Looks right, and is properly displayed on the master list of move discussions. Schazjmd (talk) 23:26, 2 August 2024 (UTC)

Managing a conflict of interest
Hello, Texan527. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Family, Career and Community Leaders of America, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for article subjects for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization, clients, or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{edit COI}} template)—don't forget to give details of reliable sources supporting your suggestions;
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest § How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam § External link spamming);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Schazjmd (talk) 22:06, 2 August 2024 (UTC)
- @Schazjmd I am not an employee of the organization. I have a lot of information about it and updated it since it was outdated. Texan527 (talk) 22:09, 2 August 2024 (UTC)
- Looking back at that I realized I was being a little bit rude, sorry about that. I'm very passionate about FCCLA and FCS education and I have a lot of knowledge that I wanted to share. Thank you for condensing the work a bit. I wish you could have kept the NLC list as I do have an email from the organization. Texan527 (talk) 22:47, 2 August 2024 (UTC)
- An email from the organization unfortunately isn't a verifiable published source, which is what we need for edits. Bsoyka (t • c • g) 22:52, 2 August 2024 (UTC)
- I see, thanks for your updates though! Texan527 (talk) 23:01, 2 August 2024 (UTC)
