Decline reason: Your request might be considered if you can tell us more about your internet access. Softlayer is not in your house or business, therefore you must have some way of logging in to your Softlayer account, from some IP address. Why can't you log directly into Wikipedia from that IP address? Does anyone else edit Wikipedia through that VPN exit node? Is the IP address of the exit node fixed? What is an AD? This IP is in my privately controlled space through Softlayer - it's my exit IPSEC VPN node for when I'm not on a trusted network. Only myself and a few select other individuals (users on my AD) have access to come out from it, and generally only I use it. There's no TOR relay or any other form of open proxy running on it. I can't say anything about the rest of 67.228/16 though! If you can't unblock it I understand, but if you can it'd be much appreciated. (Thalagyrt (talk) 16:43, 19 February 2010 (UTC))
I think I explained it fairly well - only users in my Active Directory who are on computers which have been granted an IPSec certificate while on our corporate network (and there are ~10 users) have access to this VPN. Guessing a username/password won't get anyone in. It's a fixed exit address; nothing in Softlayer's space isn't fixed. It's one of the IPs assigned through Softlayer to my business, so yes it is part of my business and is in no way shared with anyone aside from my company. As I said in the previous request it is only used when I or one of my associates are on an untrusted/unencrypted wireless network. (Thalagyrt (talk) 23:53, 28 February 2010 (UTC))

The specific IP in question is under my control and my control only; it belongs to my business and is our VPN exit node; it is not a shared IP aside from a select few (less than 5) users with access to the VPN. If there's a way to require users to be logged in to edit from that IP that's probably even better as it'd give you an audit trail - but as far as I know I'm the only person who makes edits (even though only occasionally) on Wikipedia. My reasoning for using the VPN node when I can access Wikipedia directly is simply that of security; sometimes I'm on an unprotected wireless network or a network I do not trust and I use the VPN in those cases.}}
