Edits

edit

Let me restore my edits from Oct 14, 2023. They are correct and will be sourced StillWatchesCartoons (talk) 20:01, 14 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

As I mentioned earlier my edits are correct; perhaps the issue was that I was not logged in at the time. Note that my edits are sourced to the 2023 OMB bulletin (https://www.whitehouse.gov/wp-content/uploads/2023/07/OMB-Bulletin-23-01.pdf) StillWatchesCartoons (talk) 20:10, 14 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
thank you for taking the time to correct my mistake. That'sHedley (talk) 23:21, 14 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

Unexplained and unconstructive edits

edit

Please do not add unreferenced and unexplained edits. Also, please do not revert valid changes in punctuation then make false claims of vandalism. 2003:D3:FF15:DB31:B531:F16B:F627:CC7 (talk) 20:01, 20 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

I'll check that.
Thanks for the heads up, That'sHedley (talk) 20:27, 20 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
i thought you were adding a disparaging remark as regards her name.
You got caught up in that reversal.
My bad, That'sHedley (talk) 20:30, 20 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
specifically, this edit here:
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:MobileDiff/1181087780
Which appears to be vandalism.
Have a wikipedia day, That'sHedley (talk) 20:33, 20 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
You have incorrectly claimed vandalism for edits that were not. You reverted, and without explanation, constructive edits. Please take greater care in the future with both your edits and your comments. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2003:D3:FF15:DB31:B531:F16B:F627:CC7 (talk) 11:14, 21 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
Specifically, this edit is vandalism;
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:MobileDiff/1181087780
I saw what you did there,
Have a Wikipedia day That'sHedley (talk) 14:14, 21 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
No. You made false claims about vandalism, and reverted them without explanation, for a number of valid comments: one correcting an out-dated description of the person being a Councillor and another replacing non-standard punctuation. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2003:D3:FF15:DB31:B531:F16B:F627:CC7 (talk) 16:42, 21 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
You keep saying that, but
fail to take credit for this vandalism edit:

October 2023

edit

Hello. Some of your recent genre changes, such as the one you made to Miss Porter's School, have conflicted with our neutral point of view and/or verifiability policies. While we invite all users to contribute constructively to Wikipedia, we urge all editors to provide reliable sources for edits made. When others disagree, we recommend you seek consensus for certain edits by discussing the matter on the article's talk page. Not a matter of neutrality or verifiability, just go to the talk page, please. Doll Allison (talk) 18:44, 23 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

thanks for the heads up, and glad to help.
I went back and checked the bulleted list edits, and i couldn't find anything specific.
Could you point me to the specific poorly-made edit?
Thanks in advance, That'sHedley (talk) 18:51, 23 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

Bob Welch

edit

A few days ago, you brought up some shortcomings with the Bob Welch, specifically in regards to its inadequate sourcing, a problem that I agree with. Several Fleetwood Mac related articles were written during a time when people were not as diligent about sourcing their material. Over the past several years, I have been attempting to rectify that, although there are still several articles that I have overlooked, with Bob Welch's being one of them. Fortunately, I do have some references that can help enhance the article and bring it in compliance with BLP standards. While I currently have several other articles that I wish to improve in the near future, I will prioritize Bob Welch's article in the coming days. If you would like to help in any way, feel free to do so. Dobbyelf62 (talk) 01:20, 27 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

That's always a tough one, for sure. I always want to insert things into articles of which i have first hand knowledge, but it's either not in any book on old topanga canyon, or it's now apocryphal and marginal.
Try and keep it all tidy, That'sHedley (talk) 01:28, 27 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

Unexplained revertings

edit

Hi, you have reverted all the changes I have made over the past two days with no real explanation, could you please explain why do did so? Did I do something improperly or do you have an issue with the edits themselves KnowledgeableLad (talk) 18:44, 2 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

insufficient sourcing for these changes.
thanks for helping, That'sHedley (talk) 18:49, 2 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
Hi, the current listings are also entirely unsourced, furthermore they are inconsistent as a person can be found with one nationality on one page and another on the next. The changes I made list the nationality consistent with what is written on the person's individual page (and is often sourced), which are often not the same as the incorrect ethnicity listed on the Central Committee and Politburo lists. Lastly, you reverted the change to Mikhail Frunze's nationality which I did source when changing the 13th Politburo page, as it was my first edit and so I wanted to source it.
thanks for a quick reply tho KnowledgeableLad (talk) 19:18, 2 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
Alright, I'll redo the changes with sources and citations which there are an abundance of as these are rather well known figures in Soviet history. I do however think it was improper of you to revert the changes, without explanation as well, on grounds that its unsourced, considering the current listings are entirely unsourced and contradicted both by other similar pages (Politburo listings often have different ethnicity from the Central Committee listings for the same individuals) and by the personal pages of these people.
Have a good day, KnowledgeableLad (talk) 20:29, 3 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
the explanation is you're not providing reliable sources for your editing.
thanks for helping keep wikipedia accurate, That'sHedley (talk) 21:20, 3 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

thank you

edit

yes, exactly. and please, don't add additional unsourced content, only correctly sourced and cited.

Warning editors after reverting vandalism

edit

Hi, thanks for your anti-vandalism work! As a reminder, that after reverting vandalism, please warn the editor(s) who vandalized the article, to notify them that vandalism is prohibited and abusive. It is also designed to seek the users' compliance as well. You can check out Wikipedia:Cleaning up vandalism for further information and Wikipedia:Template index/User talk namespace for a list of warning templates. You can also install Twinkle to warn editors (and, in my opinion, easier and faster to warn.) Happy editing! Tails Wx 00:39, 5 November 2023 (UTC)Reply

thank you for helping me keep my encyclopedia accurate.
i am unable to participate in that particular activity as regards the interfacing with ip editors, but i appreciate your guidance and assistance.

What do you mean by "interfacing with ip editors"? -- Cosmic6811 🍁 (T · C) 21:20, 20 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
i have communication problems that preclude interaction beyond a certain set of behaviors.
notifications of other users, twinkle-type editing assistants, anything hinting at administrative in nature, anything beyond basic pleasantries, these optional editing tools and tips i don't perform.
thank you for asking, That'sHedley (talk) 21:32, 20 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
Do you just prefer not to perform those or are you not able to do so? I'm genuinely curious. -- Cosmic6811 🍁 (T · C) 06:37, 25 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
hey cosmic,
over the last few decades I've found time to work on my encyclopedia in ways that i feel have best served our project.
newer editing tools and suggested protocol, directives that have came down over the years, i am unable to integrate into my work.
I've appreciated the leaps and bounds of online technology, but avoid anything that smacks of my personal career unless i witness grievous general science errors.
i fix my encyclopedia in ways where i can do the least harm,
have a solid Wikipedia day,
~~~ That'sHedley (talk) 17:48, 25 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
