Speedy deletion nomination of Somdip Dey

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Somdip Dey requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Somdip Dey. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Article now moved to Draft:Somdip Dey because it had not been completed or reviewed before being moved from the creator's user space. See below for multiple concerns. Deb (talk) 07:46, 29 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of User:TheAkio/sandbox/ChainIDE

Hello, I'm Deb. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions have been undone because they appeared to be promotional. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted; Wikipedia articles should be written objectively, using independent sources, and from a neutral perspective. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you.
Hello, TheAkio. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for article subjects for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you.Deb (talk) 19:28, 8 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Scale Computing

edit

The article Scale Computing has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails WP:NCORP: there are few examples of independent reliable secondary coverage.

Current article sources are user-generated content, primary sources such as product briefs and press releases, interviews with the CEO, or trivial mentions.

The overwhelming majority of other sources I've found fall into the above categories, which do not establish notability per WP:ORGCRIT.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Thanks for your contributions to John Cassimus. August 2024

edit

Hello TheAkio. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being employed (or being compensated in any way) by a person, group, company or organization to promote their interests. Paid advocacy on Wikipedia must be disclosed even if you have not specifically been asked to edit Wikipedia. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:TheAkio. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=TheAkio|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. S0091 (talk) 15:22, 15 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I apologize for any oversight in my previous edits. I assure you that I have no undisclosed financial stake in promoting any particular topic. My edits are motivated solely by my interest in the subject matter. I understand the importance of disclosing any potential conflicts of interest. I will be sure to do so in the future if any such situation arises. TheAkio (talk) 18:07, 15 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Your response is unconvincing given your editing history and reads like it was written by AI which is also not a good sign. S0091 (talk) 18:48, 15 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Pinging @Deb: who also left you note about COI/Paid editing. S0091 (talk) 18:50, 15 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
I mostly write about entrepreneurs and who have experience in some unique fields, which might be why you think so. However, I only write myself and use tools like Grammarly to correct grammatical mistakes. I mostly choose my subjects from Forbes or other business news outlets. TheAkio (talk) 19:10, 15 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
So, do you have a connection with any of the people or companies you have written about? Deb (talk) 19:30, 15 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
I can say one thing, till now I have not received a penny for my Wikipedia edits. TheAkio (talk) 19:44, 15 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Also I have never tried any forceful edits. Whenever someone has problem with my edits I try to explain and if still they have any problem I move to next topic. TheAkio (talk) 19:50, 15 August 2024 (UTC)Reply
Your answer is not believable given the blatantly promotional articles you create. I suggest creating drafts and submitting them to AfC for review going forward. S0091 (talk) 20:41, 28 August 2024 (UTC)Reply

Promotion and conflict of interest

edit
  1. Above, in the section "August 2024", Deb asked you "So, do you have a connection with any of the people or companies you have written about?" Instead of giving an answer to that, you tried to deflect the question by saying "I can say one thing, till now I have not received a penny for my Wikipedia edits." Whether your editing is paid or not, if you have a connection to people about whom you have edited you must say so; please do so.
  2. "Till now I have not received a penny" looks remarkably like an attempt to give the impression that you are not doing paid editing without actually saying so. Whether you have been paid "till now" or you only expect to be paid in the future, please state whether you are doing, or have done, editing with a view to being paid for it. Answering that is not optional: it required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use.
  3. Most of your editing has been unmistakably promotional in character, which is unacceptable. A Wikipedia article needs to be written from a neutral point of view, and it is unacceptable to express opinions in an article, such as saying that what someone has done is "an inspiration to many", that someone's work has a "unique blend of vibrant colors", and so on and so on... You will be blocked from editing if you continue in the same way. Please note that this applies whether you are being paid or not. There are numerous messages further up this page warning you about promotional editing, posted at various times from March onwards, so you are well aware that it is unacceptable.
