Hi TheChronium! You set my page, Dr. Michael Baston for speedy deletion and I'm very confused as to why. It was a simple piece for my local community college president. Tendencia band

Hi, thank you for checking this new page. I would like to know if instead of delete it, the page could be improved. This band already has a page in Wikipedia in Spanish and German, and maybe the article in English just need an expert to make it right. The band is 25 years old, with more the 5 professional records, signed with important label companies in their country and in Europe. They developed a music style unique, due to the fusion of metal music and ethnic elements. There are studies in Universities in Cuba and abroad about their use of the drumms, because of the times they use are unique. Important megazines like the MetalHammer have talked about them. When creating pages make sure to add Reliable sources also read up on Your First Article. Hello,

You recently sent Gabriela Torres Olivares to drafts with a note that it was due to lack of references. It had a number of sources, ranging from academic journals, online journals, government websites and news sources. I added more and cleaned up some of the old citations, but I am wondering if there was any other reason you sent it to drafts, so that I can be sure to address it while I await its second review. Howdy, wanted to let you know that I disagreed with your draftification of this article and have gone ahead and moved it back. It had a fairly complete profile in the WaPo, and a mention in the NYTimes, which are both heavy hitters for notability. Please consider draftifying Zija Grapshi, as created as article by same editor who did Arif Diren (now Draft:Arif Diren). Also perhaps mention COI, as creator claims the photograph as own work. New Pages

Hi @TheChronium: thanks for reviewing some of the new pages! I was hesitant to nominate Goh Wee Ping and Cara Finnegan for deletion so I just categorized them and moved on even though they weren't that great. However I moved Janna Watson back out of drafts because it looks like it has enough sources to scrape by. There's a full feature in Globe and Mail, Fashion ​and Now, and decent coverage in some others like Azure. With a little work I think it could be fixed up. Hello TheChronium,

Please join this discussion - there is increase in the abuse of Wikipedia and its processes by POV pushers, Paid Editors, and by holders of various user rights including Autopatrolled. Even our review systems themselves at AfC and NPR have been infiltrated. The good news is that detection is improving, but the downside is that it creates the need for a huge clean up - which of course adds to backlogs.

Copyright violations are also a serious issue. Most non-regular contributors do not understand why, and most of our Reviewers are not experts on copyright law - and can't be expected to be, but there is excellent, easy-to-follow advice on COPYVIO detection here.

At the time of the last newsletter (#25, December 2020) the backlog was only just over 2,000 articles. New Page Review is an official system. It's the only firewall against the inclusion of new, improper pages.

There are currently 706 New Page Reviewers plus a further 1,080 admins, but as much as nearly 90% of the patrolling is still being done by around only the 20 or so most regular patrollers.

If you are no longer very active on Wikipedia or you no longer wish to be part of the New Page Reviewer user group, please consider asking any admin to remove you from the list. This will enable NPP to have a better overview of its performance and what improvements need to be made to the process or its software.

Various awards are due to be allocated by the end of the year and barnstars are overdue. If you would like to manage this, please let us know. Indeed, if you are interested in coordinating NPR, it does not involve much time and the tasks are described here.

Hello, Requested Admins especially Mz7 and MER-C to whom I mostly report users who are violating Wikipedia policies and doing undisclosed paid editing. I am not sure why I am blocked. I have never done any paid editing work and never broke any Wikipedia law. Sometimes my area IP shows blocked not sure why. In that case, I just do airplane mode on my phone and reconnect with the internet. I guess that was the reason I got blocked? Because I reconnected with another IP by using mobile hotspot and airplane mode. I hope this may explain my response. I will be a really good asset in fighting spam and upe if given the chance to continue. I will never break any Wikipedia law because I fully respect Wikipedia guidelines, admins, and this environment. This really helps me to pass some good refreshing time in this community. And we get far too many requests from accounts blocked as socks basically saying "I'm not and I don't know why you would think I was".
