Ways to improve Joseph Faro

edit

Hi, I'm Reb1981. TheLastBrunnenG, thanks for creating Joseph Faro!

I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. Great start. I will be happy to assist you, but we need a secondary source as well.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse.

Great post with Leigh Ashworth today, thanks for giving the pirate category some love. It is really surprisingly neglected on Wikipedia, when you consider pirates are quite a big deal nowadays.

Also, you shouldn't have to eat your own pirate hat, so you can just have this fellow's.

Just a note

edit

Hello! I want to tell you that I removed the history sections because it was pretty much all unsourced (expect this one part, but that couldn't have been kept as there would have been no context for it). Hopefully you can restore it soon with sources. Thanks! RileyBugz会話投稿記録 01:29, 25 June 2017 (UTC)Reply

Pirate articles

edit

Thanks for your articles about pirates, like William May (pirate) and James Allison (pirate).

There are two things worth mentioning. Punctuation goes before the citations, see WP:PAIC. Regarding the See also section, if you've already mentioned an subject of an article already, then they shouldn't be added to the See also section. The See also section is for relevant or related articles that haven't been mentioned. See WP:See also.

If you have any questions, please leave me a message on my talk page. Happy editing!–CaroleHenson (talk) 18:11, 27 June 2017 (UTC)Reply

Autopatrolled granted

edit

Hi TheLastBrunnenG, I just wanted to let you know that I have added the "autopatrolled" permission to your account, as you have created numerous, valid articles. This feature will have no effect on your editing, and is simply intended to reduce the workload on new page patrollers. For more information on the autopatrolled right, see Wikipedia:Autopatrolled. Feel free to leave me a message if you have any questions. Happy editing! Malinaccier (talk) 18:09, 2 August 2017 (UTC)Reply

DYK for John Bear (pirate)

edit

On 28 August 2017, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article John Bear (pirate), which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that pirate John Bear married "a strumpet ... daughter of a rum-punch-woman" and tried to convince people she was a runaway noblewoman? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/John Bear (pirate). You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, John Bear (pirate)), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited John Evans (pirate), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Bermudan (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Ahoy! Thank you for your very interesting and somewhat humorous edit to History of the College of William & Mary. A lovely vignette on Colonial Virginian history! ~ Pbritti (talk) 19:35, 9 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
Happy to contribute! That buccaneer voyage has the virtue (if that's the word) of being one of the most well-documented pirvateer / pirate cruises in history, thanks to several participants writing memoirs upon their return. The William and Mary connection was just one of the "bonuses" that resulted. TheLastBrunnenG (talk) 02:19, 10 September 2022 (UTC)Reply
