Personnel sections
editI see you have done some work adding personnel sections in Beatle articles. Your formatting isn't quite right; perhaps you are unaware there is a standard for how that section is titled and formatted. See Personnel. Also, if you are entering the information based on verifiable sources, you should add that information, too. — John Cardinal (talk) 12:49, 8 April 2009 (UTC)
- First, you can reply here on your own talk page. I'll watch the page to see if it changes.
- Second, I was only trying to help you make better edits. I assumed you did not know that there was a preferred format for Personnel sections. It seems clear that you want to improve the articles, and if so, why not do it right? If you don't follow the prescribed format, then someone else has to fix it later. — John Cardinal (talk) 02:15, 10 April 2009 (UTC)
True?
editThere is no "true". There are only statements that can be supported by reliable, verifiable sources, i.e., reliable, verifiable evidence. When you add statements that are based on your own knowledge or research, they can (and should) be deleted. You will learn to appreciate this policy if you continue to add to Wikipedia. See WP:Verifiability. — John Cardinal (talk) 02:18, 14 April 2009 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Movie Animation Studio Inc.
editA tag has been placed on Movie Animation Studio Inc. requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company or corporation, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for companies and corporations.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Firstly, the article does not mention at all why said studio is notable. Secondly, the fact that it technically does not exist and is self-run (as you said) doesn't exactly help its case very much. Wikipedia deals with notable, verifiable material--please see WP:CORP for notability guidelines regarding companies. TheLetterM (talk) 02:48, 20 May 2009 (UTC)
- Sorry, I don't think you get why I nominated the article for Speedy Deletion. Ask yourself this question: has an independent, third-party publication (like a magazine or newspaper) written a non-trivial article about this studio, or any works it was associated with? If not, there's a good chance that per Wikipedia's standards, it's not notable.
- Also, the fact that it was started by you now puts the article into the realm of conflict of interest. TheLetterM (talk) 02:59, 20 May 2009 (UTC)
Your recent edits
editHi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Mr Kite
editCan't find any evidence that this was banned; the nearest is this. I see it's all over the place on blogs and the like but we don't regard those as reliable sources. Over to you. Rodhullandemu 15:24, 10 June 2009 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free media (File:AbbeyRoadOriginalBackCover.jpg)
editThanks for uploading File:AbbeyRoadOriginalBackCover.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 06:40, 11 June 2009 (UTC)
