editLead
editYour lead section is good, but it needs to cite its sources. You might clarify that it refers to people who formerly lived in the United States (rather than America), since America is ambiguous. Your lead currently does not refer to the sections you give in the article proper (the various historical periods), so I'd add a sentence for each.
This goes throughout: Be sure to remove the boldface that the whole article is currently written in.
Content
editGuiding questions:
Any reason you're not including information from Simone Browne's chapter on the freed Africans who went to Canada and Sierra Leone, which we read in Dark Matters?
You need to spell out what ACS stands for when you first use it.
Be careful with your linking. For instance, capitalize and link Jim Crow laws.
Any reason you aren't talking about African American diasporas later than the early 20th century? What about recent repatriation to Ghana, for instance?
Tone and Balance
editThis is all good.
Sources and References
editSources are acceptable, but not great. More attention could have been paid to academic journals and books. These sources just scrape the surface, and more research should have been done.
Organization
editThis is fine. Remove the boldface, though!
Images and Media
editAre there any images you could find?
Overall impressions
editOver all, this is a good (but overly short and perfunctory) expansion. I get the impression that you spent a minimal amount of time on this research and expansion. More attention to better sourcing--and drawing from sources we actually read in class--would go a long way to elevating this effort into the A range. Abukun (talk) 18:41, 12 December 2023 (UTC)
