United States Coast Guard Auxiliary
editFor your information: It is common to add only notable flotillas to the list. In this case that means: flotillas with their own articles on the English language Wikipedia. Beside that, the (incomplete) list was completely unsourced as external links do not count as sources. Can you write articles on the flotillas first, backed up by independent sources per Wikipedia:Verifiability and Wikipedia:Reliable sources? The Banner talk 14:39, 19 July 2024 (UTC)
- The Wikipedia heading for "List of active flotillas" is not a subheading of the "Notable auxiliarists and honorary commodores" heading, and that list if it were taken to completion would be far too long and troublesome to have on this page hence the switch to the divisional structure. I get your point about the links I have subsequently removed them all (and finalized the list of divisions) and will source it via the USCG auxiliary website, and I do not know if I can do all of the divisions in a timely manner but yes I will begin work on creating Wikipedia pages for them TheSausageMcMuffinVA (talk) 15:35, 19 July 2024 (UTC)
- Sorry, but the USCG auxiliary website is NOT an independent source. It is clearly related. The Banner talk 15:45, 19 July 2024 (UTC)
- But that is where the districts and divisions are listed? It is already listed as the official page of the Auxiliary on the page why can't it be used for information regarding itself? TheSausageMcMuffinVA (talk) 15:51, 19 July 2024 (UTC)
- Additionally I would like to add on the Talk page itself for the USCG Aux It mentions how impractical it is to have a list of Flotillas this is by far the best way to go about things TheSausageMcMuffinVA (talk) 15:55, 19 July 2024 (UTC)
