Your edits to Convention Centre Dublin, which have properly been reverted, are the sort of promotional language which our rules on paid editors and conflict of interest are intended to prevent. If you attempt to revert to your promotional version (which bluntly looks like the usual pile of polished coprolites one expects from marketing departments), you will be blocked. As you've already been advised, in your position you should limit yourself to offering information on the talk page of the article (and by "information" I mean impartial facts coming from reliable, published third-party sources which would improve the article in the eyes of a neutral reader. Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to add soapboxing, promotional or advertising material to Wikipedia, as you did at Convention Centre Dublin, you may be blocked from editing. --Orange Mike | Talk 15:11, 23 September 2015 (UTC)Reply
Hi Mean as custard and Orangemike, I honestly did not intent to post promotional material and believed it to be factual for Wikipedia. I wanted to ensure readers had the most up to date information. I also didn't realise that I should offer information on the talk page of the article which I will do in future. Thanks for the advice MK at The CCD (talk) 15:33, 23 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

Your username and conflict of interest

edit

Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "The CCD", may not comply with our username policy. Please note that you may not use a username that represents the name of a company, group, organization, product, or website. Examples of usernames that are not allowed include "XYZ Company", "MyWidgetsUSA.com", and "Trammel Museum of Art". However, you are invited to use a username that contains such a name if it identifies you personally, such as "Mark at WidgetsUSA", "Jack Smith at the XY Foundation", and "WidgetFan87".

Please also note that Wikipedia does not allow accounts to be shared by multiple people, and that you may not advocate for or promote any company, group, organization, product, or website, regardless of your username. Moreover, I recommend that you read our conflict of interest guideline. If you are a single individual and are willing to contribute to Wikipedia in an unbiased manner, please create a new account or request a change of username, by completing this form, that complies with our username policy. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. Thank you. -- Diannaa (talk) 01:21, 23 September 2015 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for getting that done, MK. Please be sure to make yourself aware of our conflict of interest guideline. It's best in articles where you do have a conflict of interest that you post your suggested edits on the article's talk page rather than editing the article directly. Also,, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:MK at The CCD. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=MK at The CCD|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. -- Diannaa (talk) 13:31, 23 September 2015 (UTC)Reply
