The One Terminators
Welcome!
editHi John, and a warm welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you have enjoyed editing as much as I did so far and decide to stay. Unfamiliar with the features and workings of Wikipedia? Don't fret! Be Bold! Here's some good links for your reference and that'll get you started in no time!
- Editing tutorial, learn to have fun with Wikipedia.
- Picture tutorial, instructions on uploading images.
- How to write a great article, to make it an featured article status.
- Manual of Style, how articles should be written.
Most Wikipedians would prefer to just work on articles of their own interest. But if you have some free time to spare, here are some open tasks that you may want to help out :
Oh yes, don't forget to sign when you write on talk pages, simply type four tildes, like this: ~~~~. This will automatically add your name and the time after your comments. And finally, if you have any questions or doubts, don't hesitate to contact me on my talk page. Once again, welcome! =)

Thank you for your interest in the Halo pages. However, your article has some factual errors, overly personal comments, and is not as professional as it could be. If you wish to further edit this page, please make use of the Talk:Halo 2 page and comment your edits appropriately. Khaim 13:35, 31 Jan 2005 (UTC)
Interesting user page you have there
editI was reading it, and I like how you have interest in Star Wars. I've been contributing alot geographically wise, via the Planets of Star Wars article and my newly created Sectors of Star Wars. Maybe you could help contribute.
Seems like a fun relationship you'll have with your 'future wife', but be careful about that.
On another note, do your friends know that you're giving them Wikipedian bios?

- I also just added Systems of Star Wars to complete the whole set of locations in the galaxy, so if you have info on any of these things, feel free to add. -- Riffsyphon1024 01:08, 6 Feb 2005 (UTC)
- Dude, Al Qaeda was created by the US as a weapon for the Cold War, and even now everything we do to "defeat" it is actually exactly what will make it stronger, like attacking its enemies in Iraq...if actually defeating it is necessary for peace, we're in for a hell of a lot of war. Kaz 04:50, 13 Feb 2005 (UTC)
- That is the same thing. When we violate other countries, encourage terrorism and oppression for our own benefit, we set up a guaranteed backlash like this. We keep arming and supporting evil governments and movements, and then being surprised when either they turn on us, or are overthrown by people who then, for good reason, hate us. The solution is not to meddle and violate more, but to stop doing it altogether. Kaz 22:12, 13 Feb 2005 (UTC)
Edit conflict over future events
editStatements about what you think will happen in the future are POV original research and do not belong in Wikipedia. Please take a different approach to what you want to say. Gazpacho 20:50, 16 Feb 2005 (UTC)
- I apologize for mistaking you for a vandal. Now, nobody can stop you from removing good-faith criticisms from your talk page, but doing so can reflect on your reputation when word gets around. Gazpacho
- Yeah, I won't be surprised if your own comments disappear from this page. Each time I try to discuss his stating predictions of the future as if they were absolute fact, he deletes them. I'm beginning to wonder if he really does think he somehow knows exactly what's going to happen, which would make my explanations of why it doesn't belong in articles blasphemy. Kaz 16:23, 17 Feb 2005 (UTC)
Random observation
editBible verse John 11:07 is "Then he said to his disciples, 'Let us go back to Judea.'". Is this chance? --Carnildo 05:15, 10 Feb 2005 (UTC)
Editing Recommendation
editHey, glad to have your help on the Star Wars stuff! Keep it up. :) Thought I'd drop an editing pointer to you that you might wanna check out - Wikipedia:Show preview. You can use that to check out the page before you actually save it. That way you can catch spelling/wording before saving, and that'll save cluttering up the change logs.
Anyway, see you around! Cbarbry 07:20, 11 Feb 2005 (UTC)
- I don't mean to bug you, but again I ask: please try to use the Show preview button. It is wearisome trying to follow all the changes you make on an article when they happen over a series of several versions. Thanks again for the contribs! Cbarbry 21:12, 25 Feb 2005 (UTC)
3RR
editYou were blocked under the 3RR erroneously. I mistook your final edit to the spoiler tag for a removal, when all you did was move it to the correct location. I accept full responsibility for missing that and I apologize. I trust you understand that it was an honest mistake and not malicious. I've unblocked you. --Dante Alighieri | Talk 20:13, Feb 17, 2005 (UTC)
Spoiler still
editFYI, the spoiler I was referring to concerned Episode III and is in the section on that girl you like, the spoiler tag isn't on that section. :( --Dante Alighieri | Talk 01:54, Feb 18, 2005 (UTC)
- I concur. People may stumble across that and have the movie spoiled. I, myself already figured this would happen anyway. -- Riffsyphon1024 04:09, Mar 20, 2005 (UTC)
Contributions
editThe problem is that your unsourced contributions are nothing more than speculation, and you continue to pass them off as fact. It is not that we are slow to update articles - it's that we don't update them with speculation and rumor. Snowspinner 02:48, Mar 5, 2005 (UTC)
Star Wars Wiki
editI invite you to contribute Star Wars related information to the new Star Wars Wiki (aka Wookieepedia). Be sure to re-sign up for Wikicities first if you haven't already. -- Riffsyphon1024 05:38, Mar 12, 2005 (UTC)
Eh?
editWhat happened, John? -- Riffsyphon1024 04:36, May 15, 2005 (UTC)
- Your user page is becoming quite demented. Are you ok? -- Riffsyphon1024 23:44, Jun 20, 2005 (UTC)
- You think you've redirected your user page enough? I begin to wonder how many alias you tend to go by. -- Riffsyphon1024 19:55, Jun 22, 2005 (UTC)
cat:Wikipedians
editHi there! I've removed the [[Category:Wikipedians]] from your user page... of course you are a Wikipedian like the rest of us, but the point of that category is not for every individual user to add their userpage to (in fact, there aren't any other users in there). You might want to find a suitable sub-category. Yours, Radiant_* 10:38, May 17, 2005 (UTC)
I'm trying to have the section headings correspond strictly to the movies. Just a stylistic decision for the purposes of editing, I hope you don't mind. As you may notice, I've fleshed out the summary of Vader's actions in The Empire Strikes Back for that purpose. — Phil Welch 02:36, 20 May 2005 (UTC)

editI responded to your note on my talk page. — Phil Welch 20:41, 23 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Filipino Wikipedians
editHi, you were listed (under your old username) in the Wikipedia:Wikipedians/Philippines page as living in or being associated with Philippines. As part of the Wikipedia:User categorisation project, these lists are being replaced with user categories. If you would like to add yourself to the category that is replacing the page, please add [[Category:Filipino Wikipedians|{{subst:PAGENAME}}]] to your user page. Thanks. :) Coffee 03:28, 12 August 2005 (UTC)
- Oh, you're banned. Well, I'll just add the category to your old user page anyway. Coffee 18:39, 16 August 2005 (UTC)
Handbook of Texas proposed deletion
editPlease go here and express your opinion on whether Category:Handbook of Texas citations should be deleted. As a Texan Wikipedian, your opinion on this topic is particularly valuable. 66.167.253.162 17:46, 26 September 2005 (UTC).
