Blanking a talk page

edit

Hey there! May I ask why you blanked an IP's talk page after I gave him a warning? –TCN7JM 22:52, 14 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

Sorry about that. I'll undo it if you didn't already.The Triple M (talk) 23:10, 14 February 2013 (UTC)Reply

Re:Adminship

edit

If you haven't already read it, I'd read Wikipedia:Guide to requests for adminship. That'll tell you a lot about what people here look for in potential admins. My biggest suggestion is to make more edits (my suggestion is several hundred more) in a wide variety of areas. Among other things, you could revert vandalism, participate in Wikipedia:Articles for deletion discussions, participate in Wikipedia:Articles for creation, put articles up for deletion, and help with building articles that need expansion. You shouldn't focus your edits in just one specific area. Lugia2453 (talk) 20:02, 15 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

Braveheart

edit

Here is the webpage discussing his comments on Braveheart.

Not sure how this thing works but I'll write about whay I edited the Braveheart page.

That quote from Bill Connolly is totally wrong. He hated Braveheart, stating in an interview that it "Australian shite". Someone who like Mell Gibson or the movie doesn't want this out. The following is a direct quote from the man himself.

“Braveheart is pure Australian s***e…William Wallace was a spy, a thief, a blackmailer – a c**t basically. And people are swallowing it. It’s part of a new Scottish racism, which I loath – this thing that everything horrible is English. It’s conducted by the great unread and the conceited w***ers at the SNP, those dreary little pr**ks in Parliament who rely on bigotry for support” - Billy Connolly, Scottish Comedian

VV Brown

Hi I am the artist (VV Brown) and the page has several mistakes that I would like to change how do I go about doing this. Its very frustrating as I am an artist and would like the page to reflect myself correctly. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.26.166.90 (talk) 19:59, 2 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

RfA

edit

Hi The Triple M. All users are welcome to participate in any discussions about the Wikipedia backroom and its management and it's nice to see new faces around. However, with only 174 edits to Wikipedia, perhaps you would like to read these pages to understand more about the RfA voting process.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask me. Happy editing! Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 03:13, 5 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

Vandal IP

edit

As to the vandal IP ... the next time, to accelerate discipline, please take note ... if there has been a final warning given within the past month, you should report the vandal for blocking here, rather than (yet again) give a final warning. Best.--Epeefleche (talk) 18:31, 5 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

Except, if it's an unregistered IP rather than a registered username, read "the past week" for "the past month".
Well, I think so anyway.
Gosh, complicated isn't it? --Demiurge1000 (talk) 22:53, 5 November 2013 (UTC)Reply
Reports can be made here. See also Wikipedia:Guide to administrator intervention against vandalism. Demi -- I don't recall seeing a shorter timeframe for IPs ... is that the case? We allow them to vandalize every 8 days? ;) --Epeefleche (talk) 02:18, 6 November 2013 (UTC)Reply
Epee, you are missing the point. Please brush up on things. --Demiurge1000 (talk) 02:20, 6 November 2013 (UTC)Reply
Demi -- I'm responding to the query Triple posted on my page, in response to my above comment. In part -- if that is what you did not understand. Otherwise, I am missing the point of your comment.--Epeefleche (talk) 02:22, 6 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

Do you respect a free and open internet?

edit

Hi Three M. I'm calling you out. You presume to call yourself a steward of wikipedia and yet you jump to ban my IP after arguably minimal edits. Wikipedia is about open freedom for all who use it. I wasn't capriciously removing content. Rather I was removing what I found to be unsupported and frankly puerile content. I live in Richmond. It is not as dangerous as these spurious statements like "most dangerous city" in California claim. I simply removed unverified information (the references don't even mention Richmond). And even so,references don't imply truth, they are vehicles for presenting information and are not a priori true. I will say that I didn't realize there were places for an edit summary, and perhaps had I entered that, I wouldn't have been scorned. Also, I do appreciate that you are protecting the content. That's quite noble, but please don't lock the doors when you don't like the style of the edits. Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.207.62.142 (talk) 20:53, 28 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hello, 98.207.62.142. I respect that you are not a wild vandal let loose on Wikipedia, but rather someone with sense. Allow me to quote something from your message. "You jump to ban my IP after arguably minimal edits." No, I gave you a final warning, and did not ban you. I'm not exactly jumping at the chance to do it, either. And "minimal edits?" You've deleted about 7,000 bytes of information. I'd hardly call it minimal. Also, I am not the only one involved in preventing you from deleting information. I am One of Many, Martinillo, AND Baseball Watcher have restrained you. I am not the only one to blame. Remember that. TheTriple M 21:08, 28 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

Tom Bombadil

edit

Hello! I'm replying in reference to the Tom Bombadil page you recently messaged me about. Here is a link to the source I found providing reliable information concerning the recent Tom Bombadil video. http://woub.org/2013/11/05/logan-girl-creates-video-adaptation-lord-rings

I found this link via TheOneRing.net (forum).

Of course I understand most YouTube videos shouldn't be included in a Wikipedia webpage, however, this video in particular was only uploaded to YouTube after it was offered a critiquing by Wingnut Productions.

Phil Mason

edit

I recently changed the information of Phil Mason, better know as Thunderf00t. I recently got a message from you saying you undid some of my edits because you felt they weren't constructive. I changed some of the content because I felt it was biased, misleading and didn't give enough background on the situations that were on his page. Just wanted to let you know, no disrespect but if you want to give a detailed yet fair account into what occurred with the online stalking incident he suffered and his views on feminism please do. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Pcast99 (talkcontribs) 01:57, 9 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hi there! This is just a friendly reminder that the first ever Tyop Contest starts tomorrow at 0:00 UTC! The contest will be run from February 1 to March 1, 2014. Please note that there have been some changes to the scoring process to allow a system that involves almost no effort on your part submitting your typo corrections. This allows for moar time spent fixing typos,
less time submitting your fixes!

The Tyop Contest is over! Great job, everyone! Of the fourteen entrants, twelve fixed typos! The judges are very behind with the judging, but it will get done! Another note similar to this one will be sent out when the judging is complete to announce the winners. Check back again next January for the (hopeful) second running of the Tyop Contest, as this one went swell

Hello The Triple M, I have removed placements of an image that you have been using to welcome new users; welcoming new users is a positive activity, however adding graphic images to their pages can be construed a bit bitey, especially when you claim to be trolling them. — xaosflux Talk 03:09, 5 September 2014 (UTC)Reply

ArbCom elections are now open!

edit

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
