Explaination
editSince you specifically asked for an explanation on your talk page I'll give you one. The United States as a subject is very broad. It covers not just the history, politics, and geography, but notable people, culture, art, constructions, and a huge diversity of other topics. As such individual areas have articles to focus on the relevant subject matter, like US history. The sections therefor have to be executive summaries describing the most relevant facts. Bin Laden's death was important to the united states, but of world changing scope, such as the begining of a war. Therefor the fact is most likely better off in the sub-article, not United States. You reverted 3 different people without actually discussing why you thought this particular fact was of critical importance. The chances are if you had made a clear, concise case on the talk page, people would be less likely to revert you like this. Edit wars don't help get your opinion understood. i kan reed (talk) 16:33, 31 May 2011 (UTC)
The seal of the US
editSorry for editing your user page, and I'm not in a position to offer legal advice, so I can't tell you for sure that what you're doing is illegal. However, my personal reading of TITLE 18 > PART I > CHAPTER 33 > SECTION 713, suggests to me that at the very least caution should be used in putting this emblem on your user page. Per your request, I will not be editing your user page again, but it could be of concern. i kan reed (talk) 18:56, 31 May 2011 (UTC)
- Since it's not promotional or intended to indicate sponsorship by the US Government, I don't think there's anything to worry about. --SarekOfVulcan (talk) 15:06, 1 June 2011 (UTC)
good bye
editWell i am done congrates becuse clearly, i have been bullied my mulltiply people on this website i have decied to stop editing or even using wikipedia. I thought wikipedia was a place were most can get along and edit articals withou the consent battering my other user or at the very least admins that has proven to be imposable. The biggest offender among them would have to be (Redacted). Now if i find out latter from any of my friends that action has been taken to rectifi this then i may return. Now on that note i do want to thank User:Ikanreed if there were admins out there like you i would not have had this problem. With all that out of the way i bid you all a farwell.
- Sorry you've made that choice. Wikipedia lets anyone edit it, and as such people are going to disagree about exactly what content belongs. I wish you'd take the chance to see what editors have done as polite disagreement and not bullying. I've seen a lot of editors get discouraged at the level of beaurocracy here, but please don't hold it against the project, it's an artifact of human nature. Good bye. i kan reed (talk) 16:32, 1 June 2011 (UTC)
If you do return, please read and learn Wikipedia:Bold, revert, discuss cycle and try to follow it in practice. Basically, it amounts to: Be bold, then if you get reverted, don't engage in an edit war but discuss your disagreement on the article talk page. ~Amatulić (talk) 22:04, 2 June 2011 (UTC)

March Madness 2017
editG'day all, please be advised that throughout March 2017 the Military history Wikiproject is running its March Madness drive. This is a backlog drive that is focused on several key areas:
- tagging and assessing articles that fall within the project's scope
- updating the project's currently listed A-class articles to ensure their ongoing compliance with the listed criteria
- creating articles that are listed as "requested" on the project's various task force pages or other lists of missing articles.
As with past Milhist drives, there are points awarded for working on articles in the targeted areas, with barnstars being awarded at the end for different levels of achievement.
The drive is open to all Wikipedians, not just members of the Military history project, although only work on articles that fall (broadly) within the military history scope will be considered eligible. More information can be found here for those that are interested, and members can sign up as participants at that page also.
The drive starts at 00:01 UTC on 1 March and runs until 23:59 UTC on 31 March 2017, so please sign up now.
For the Milhist co-ordinators. Regards, AustralianRupert (talk) & MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 07:24, 26 February 2017 (UTC)
